  • How do I fix my financial life?

I never had any financial education & made a lot of mistakes. I don't know how to fix anything that went wrong.

    1. My credit is terrible & there's so much wrong with my report I can't answer any questions to dispute things online

    2. I can't qualify for a secured credit card because my credit is so bad (529 score)

    3. I'd like to somehow accumulate wealth but I don't know how to get started or who can help me make a plan.

Can any of you offer me some advice?

  • Can the IRS take my child support to pay delinquent student loans?

Because of the economy and being laid off, I've gotten delinquent on my student loans. The IRS already took my entire tax return. Its already the 15th of February, and I still haven't received my child support. I was wondering if they were garnishing that as well, or if they can. I can't find any information online as it all seems to point to the other parent's delinquency. I'm the parent who is owed. I haven't called them yet since it hasn't been 30 days late, but I'm hurting right now. I was just wondering if anyone knew if the IRS can even take that?

    Thanks.

  • Want to move to SoCal, where to work?

I have a bachelors degree in graphic design and I'm still in school (online) for my masters in web design. I need to support myself and my son. I'll take anything I can get nowadays, with nobody really hiring. Can anyone suggest a place to work and give me some advice on how to relocate to southern california? I don't really care where, but I would prefer the inland empire only because of the cost of living.

    thanks in advance.

  • How much money does the Army and Navy reserve pay each month to officers?

I'm 32, most of the way through a graduate degree and would like to join either active duty navy or army, or become a reservist. I'd like to know how much reservists make each month, especially O1/O2 officers.

    Thanks.

  • Son randomly screams, help?

My son is 13 months and randomly he will just let out an ear piercing scream. He isn't sad or angry, tired or unhappy. He just screams. If I tell him no, he just laughs and giggles at me. Its almost like screams are in his vocabulary. How can I get him to stop screaming?

  • My 1 year old is over 3 feet tall?

My baby just turned one and is over 3 feet tall - 3'4" or so. Has anyone heard of a baby growing this fast? He's wearing 2T and 3T clothes and looks like a 2 or 3 year old. He's healthy as anything, only being sick once in his life and I know I should count my blessings, but I cant help but worry. His size is astonishing. I am 5'8" and dad is 5'11"... neither one of us are goliath size.

Should I be worried about his incredible rate of growth?

  • Are art internships usually paid or unpaid?

I am a graduate student majoring in motion graphics/new media. I am looking for an internship to get myself into the industry. There is one studio I would very much like to intern at - but they are about 1000 miles away. I am willing to leave my family and go, but are internships usually paid or unpaid?

I am unsure how to support myself if I am interning 8 hours a day. Can anyone help in this respect? I don't know anyone who has done an art internship before.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Any Teachers Quit Mid-Year?

I need serious help. I just started teaching on a probationary certificate in Texas. Its just about mid-year and I can't make my bills. I'm supporting my husband and son (husband can not work right now) and the money just isn't there.

How bad is this going to look on my resume? I realize my principal isn't going to give me a stellar review for leaving mid year but will I ever find any kind of job again? This just isn't working out and I'm seriously worried.

I've tried to apply for TANF/FoodStamps, but I apparently make too much for that. Moving to a smaller apartment probably won't make much of a difference and I can't afford medical insurance, even if I wanted it. I'm drowning a serious death. Right now, I'm terrified I won't even find a wal-mart gig if I quit.

Has anyone ever quit mid year? How did it work out for you? How did you explain your leave? Please, serious answers only.

    Thank you in advance.

  • How far should an abusive relationship go?

I have a husband whom I love very much. He and I were together many years before he decided to join the military for personal reasons. He was kicked out after roughly 1 year because of a mental disability bordering on psychosis.

That entire year, plus every year since, he has been dealing with the mental agony of service, and then afterwards, the inability to cope with life in general.

He has been acting out in desperation. He gets mad and breaks stuff -breaks dishes, punches walls, etc. Yesterday he threw a box at me and hit me with an ironing board while I was holding our son of 10 months.

He is sick. He is very, very ill. Today he saw his first doctor to get him into treatment. We haven't had insurance before and just got him in to see someone. I can't very well live like this but if he's willing to get help, should I be patient? I promised to stand by his side through "sickness and health," and this is a bad time.

I realize this is abusive every time I feel the bruises hurt. I have 3 new ones since yesterday. However, ripping our son away from his dad is wrong and leaving him when he needs me is wrong too. I am not blameless here; if I didn't antagonize him he wouldn't get to that point - but sometimes having him do his homework and go to school is dreadfully important to me.

What would you do? I think I'm doing the right thing by giving him the opportunity to see a doctor before I leave. I don't want things to end. We're in our 9th year of marriage and our son loves his father.

Please help (and please don't criticize me. I have enough going on).

  • Advice on Education: What can a BFA and MBA net me?

I currently have a BFA in graphic design and I am considering a masters in business (MBA). I would like to know what types of jobs this combination would net me. Has anyone gone this route before? Would anyone out there hire with this combination?

Also, please include some salary ballparks. I'd like to know if I can pay off these loans someday.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Can one have a super heavy period and still be pregnant?

I am having some odd symptoms, like nausea and I was spotting dark brown discharge just as my period apparently started (which never happens). I am cramping as well.

I don't keep track of my period but I could have swore its not time for it to start yet.

Has anyone had a very heavy period and still ended up pregnant? I don't think I'm getting ill or anything.

  • Does brown spotting between periods usually indicate pregnancy?

Does brown spotting between periods usually indicate pregnancy? I am 32, period isn't exactly regular, but its about every 5 weeks. Well, about 2 weeks ago I had my period. Yesterday and today I started spotting. Its brownish blood. I am wondering if this is a symptom of pregnancy?

My husband and I messed around recently, though we used a condom most of the time. I will admit that there is a possibility of pregnancy technically, though I wonder.

Any ideas or suggestions? I can't take a pregnancy test until I get paid in 2 weeks.

    Thanks.
