My Mpm had some--huge wooden frames that could be adjusted in size to fit the curtain being dried. There were pins on each side, spaced about half an inch apart (my memory). We kids used to love helping pull the curtains tight onto those pins. Then they came down and didn't need ironing, as I recall. Would anybody bother today?

And did your town block off some nice hilly streets when it snowed so that kids could ride their sleds in safety? We used to keep at it until after dark, because there were streetlights. Much more fun than a plastic tray, I think.
