  • Want to know if this is legal?

I was wrongfully terminated due to an accusation of harassment of another employee. I work for a Union shop. The Chairman called me a day after my termination saying he didn't think I would get back for roughly two years because of evidence they stated they had. None of this evidence was ever shown to me.

Then a day after that the chairman called me and stated I could probably get my job back in three months. I asked how? He stated that the Labor Relations person who fired me stipulated that I not sue the company for wrongful termination. This to me seems very illegal to hold my livelihood in the balance.

As a side note, I do have an EEOC charge against the company due to unrelated issue. I believe they are using this termination as a retaliation tactic. What should I do?

Please anyone with legal profession please. Please serious answers only.

  • Would like to know if this is legal? ?

This question concerns harassment. I was falsely accused by a coworker of calling her at home. I was brought to the labor people for disciplinary action. I denied the allegations. I asked for the number and when the call was made. After much hem hawing around I was able to get them to admit the number was out of state. I then proved that the number didn't belong to me. I asked if anything was said to this other person when the call was made. They said no. After much debate, I was still disciplined (Lost work time and pay). I was then told that outside of work I was to stay completely away from this person. Example: She is in a store that I frequent, I am not allowed to go into the store. She could go to work the next day and have me disciplined again even if we never said two words to one another or even were in the same part of the store.

Now, she has never filed any kind of police report or anything against me so I am asking how can our work dictate to me where I go when I am outside of there? Is this legal?

  • Why are married men attracted to me?

This is not a question of vanity and I would like some real analytical answers not rude ones please.

It seems that I attract married men. I have good conversation with any man, but then I find out that he's married and that's the end of it. I have a hard time finding a single man to even consider dating. The issue being that I ask if they are married and most, but not all tell the truth. Yet, even in telling the truth they still want to go out. I am usually floored at this and have told them time and time again that I don't date married men.

  • What do you think?

Just wondering. Do you believe in "Karma"? By that I mean do you believe if you do something tragic or bad that it follows you forever? The lost opportunities, bad things that happen and so on.

  • How to get him to leave me alone?

Okay, I work with my ex boyfriend. We aren't on the same shift, but he has asked my brother, who also works at the same place and some of my friends if they will get me to talk to him. I have once and already told him to leave me alone. When he works over into my shift he makes a point to try and communicate with me in some way. I ignore all of it. He is married and we didn't end well. I have told him and my friends that talk to him to tell him to leave me alone. He keeps on and on. Without getting into legal issues I want him to stop. I don't know if I should just be mean or what. Please no rude answers. Honesty please.

  • Need help. Can someone seriously answer this question?

    Okay got 2 trivia questions.

    1. What safety program is being initiated by the International Labour Organization? (Hint: one of the oldest occupations in areas near the sea.) Why is this industry so dangerous?

    2. Massachusetts first initiated a rudimentary worker’s compensation system for this industry in the 1840’s by withholding a percent of profits to fund health care for injured workers.

Anyone seriously, no goofy answers please. Thank you

  • What is the professional training of a coroner?

Last year many may have read about the Taylor University students and faculty that were killed in an auto accident. Two of the students were misidentified by the coroner. The coroner had no real professional training. He was our former mayor. I thought coroners had to be doctors or trained medical professionals. Anyone? Serious answers only.

  • discrimination at a grocery store?

I'm asian and I went to a grocery store to get some things. It was late and the stock boys were out. One came up to me and asked "How do you make rice like in the Chinese restaurants." I responded that I didn't know and tried to move on. He followed me and kept asking. There were several other stockboys watching him and laughing. This stock boy did act a little mentally challenged, but I felt the others could've stopped him.

A few months later I go into the same store and was at the checkout. The clerk there says, "Didn't you already come through here?" Puzzled I said no. She proceeded to say "Oh well, you all look alike." I was upset. I don't know if I have anything legal I can do. I feel like these employees should be trained already not to say these things.

  • Illegal discrimination?

Legal question. Would like a lawyer to answer or someone who's been involved in this type of situation. Can discrimination happen illegally at a workplace if different races of all types (Hispanic, black, asian, etc) have put in for the same types of promotions as whites, yet everytime a white caucasian is given the job and it is proven that the promotions were by the same set of people in each promotion? Or does the discrimination have to happen to a set race group? (Black)(Asian)(Hispanic)

  • Any funny pickup lines?

This is for mainly those of racial minorities. I am writing a book and would love to hear some funny pick up lines you've been given when being asked out. This book will be like a Pick Up Lines and Dating Minorities for Dummies type book. Your answers, if you wish, remain anonymous. Please nothing too vulgar or gross. Example, I had a gentleman ask this: "I've never been around the world, mind if I ride the Orient Express?" I'm Korean. You can give your ethnicity if you wish.

  • Fair representation?

I went to a lawyer blog website to find out if there are issues of a Union and fair representation. The lawyers that blogged in say I have no case. I find this hard to believe. I have an ongoing issue of harrassment with a coworker that lies to the UAW President and tries to get me in trouble. She has interrogated people I speak to and has spread malicious lies about me. The bad part is the UAW President is siding with her. When she makes a complaint and lies he will interrogate my supervisor and superintendent in an attempt to get them to say something he can use to get me in trouble. So far they have been honest and said I have no problems. This has been ongoing. When I have a complaint the UAW President shrugs it off and says he spoke to her and she said she didn't do it. I went to the HR dept. and was told that if I filed a complaint it would only make things worse. I am at my wits end. Any lawyers here who could help give some advice?

  • What do I do next?

I have tried to reason with a coworker through a mediator. She has told lies about me and tried to get me fired by saying I'm stalking her and keeping her from doing her job. I have absolutely no contact with her so I don't know how this could be. I have went to her boss to ask him to speak to her about the issues. All he says is that she is not doing it and if I let things be it will go away. Well, it hasn't. She is still telling lies to coworkers about me. I then went to Human Resources to file a claim about her behavior. Again I was told to let it go because filing a claim would only make things worse. She has made my job unbearable because of the constant interrogations when she claims I have done something to her. I don't even work in the same dept. as she does. Leaving my job isn't really an option. I am at my wits end with all this. Any suggestions?
