  • Engine lost power on highway, smoked, wouldn't crank...?

I noticed a thumping sound the last time I drove the car before this happened. I thought my tires were severely low on air... I was driving on the highway with no more thumping... suddenly I lost speed... I applied gas and it had no effect... eventually the car lost speed down to 40mph, and I pulled over on the shoulder. The car smoked. It was night, so it was hard to say about the color. The car never started again. It tried to turn over but never would. I checked the oil and coolant and both were fine. Today I had it towed to my house and would like to tinker with it but I'm having a hard time determining a good starting place... My main suspect currently is the fuel supply... maybe the cats... I have 3 and they are known to have issues. lol It's a '96 Subaru Outback.

  • Is a toenail fungus infection a real infection?

I've had a thick, brittle toenail for many years now. It is even pulled away from the nail bed on one side. It hasn't caused me any problems aside from just being unsightly, but even that I could somewhat mask with polish. The other day I was trying to trim my nails after just getting out of the shower and liquid came out from under my nail that was not water! Eww! Twice a day for about three days I've dipped a toothpick in peroxide and slid it under the nail where it was already pulled away, hoping if it was an infection or just some nasty fungal something, I could get rid of it. But now it's just very obviously infected. I am not sure if toenail fungus can be like this. If its not, I don't know why I have an infection under my nail and I'm worried. It's not ingrown, I've had lots of those so I know what to expect. Has anybody had anything like this?

  • Moving a free roaming iguana into my home?

My boyfriend owns a free roaming iguana and he wants to move in with me and bring the iguana. I love iguanas but she won't be able to run all over the house like she is used to. We can take her out and play with her and even take her outside which she never gets to do now, but I am concerned that so much time in even a large terrarium will depress her and eventually harm her health. How many people keep their iguanas in a terrarium and how much difference might this make for her?

  • bought used car while in the shop and nothing like I thought?

My boyfriend bought a new used car from someone we both knew from work. The person had been telling us both for months how the car was in excellent condition cosmetically and was currently in the shop but would be running perfectly when it was taken from the shop. My boyfriend paid for the car and it was changed over into my name before we even saw the car but when I went to get the car, it looked HORRIBLE and parts were actually falling off of it. I took the car because I was absolutely desperate for a car but the more I drive it, I discover that it tries to cut off on me and often doesn't want to crank. I've only had it about four days. We bought the car through the woman's mother who frequents the place we work and we've spoken to her about it but she acts like she doesn't know what we're talking about as it wasn't her car and just keeps reminding us of all the money that was spent to get it fixed to the point that it is. Like that makes it better! Is there any legal way to handle this situation?

  • Months ago a virus restricted access to System/Windows/My Doc folders, etc. How I can get that back?

The virus seems to be completely removed because I've seen none of the symptoms since, but my access to some very important folders has never been restored. I tried to download a program from Russia to fix the problem as it was the only one I could find that said it would, but it didn't work and was loaded with spyware to boot.
