Will this be a good amp to run 2 Alpine Type-R SWR-1242D's wired to 1 ohm?
http://www.techronics.com/caraudio_9496_Hifonics-B...
I want to know if there's anyone out there that's run this amp with 2 Alpine Type-R's (SWR-1242D) at a 1-ohm final load. I'm looking to upgrade, and can't wing the $500+ for a PDX1.1000, and since I have the 4-ohm DVC model I can't get the full 1000w RMS out of the MRP-M1000.
But since this amp is 1200w RMS @ 1-ohm stable I think it'd be a good, and relatively reasonably priced alternative.

I was just wondering to myself today, why aren't there any shows on TV about car audio? I have found that a lot of people enjoy it. So I think there would be a decent enough following for a show about it. I'd definitely watch it. Doing crazy custom installs and stuff would be very interesting!
4 AnswersCar Audio1 decade agoHow to wire my Alpine SWR-1242D subwoofers to a 2-Ohm load?
I need either a diagram, or explanation on how to wire my 2 Alpine SWR-1242D subwoofers to a 2-Ohm stable amplifier. Thanks!

I just ordered 2 12" Alpine Type R's. Not looking to break the bank on an amp. Any suggestions?
2 AnswersCar Audio1 decade agoTrying to find a good amp to power 2 Alpine 12" SWR-1242D Subwoofers?
I'm looking for a decently priced amplifier with about 1000 watts RMS power for my new subwoofers. The subwoofers are 500w RMS each, so that'd be 1000w RMS total.
