  • daughter's auto insurance?

I was a passenger in my daughter's car. Her fiance was driving, they live together and have a brand new baby.. A van crashed into the driver's side door. I ended up with my legs pinned beneath the dashboard. The EMTs had to use the jaws of life to cut me out. The fiance and I were taken immediately to the hospital. He has a fractured leg and shoulder, I have bruised ribs and my left leg is terribly swollen and I have a hemotoma on my calf. . I'm in a lot of pain. At first, they were agreeable and told me to sue their insurance. I got a lawyer. Now, my daughter and her fiance is loading me with a lot of guilt. "How could you do this to your own daughter?" etc. It was her fiance's fault, though I think the other driver was speeding. I've never sued anyone in my life, although I had the opportunities. The other driver is undoubtedly going to sue, for her van, and her injuries. Will I cause her insurance company to cancel her policy? Will it make it harder for her to get insurance with another company. I would never do anything to hurt my children on purpose. They are just starting out, and as sad as this is to say, they won't get married until she finishes college.

I assume the other driver is suing and compared to what she's entitled to mine is nothing. I'm afraid to ask my lawyer, he might say it's a conflict of interest. I just need to know if her insurance will be canceled or raised because of me.
