  • Which is better: iPod nano 4th generation or iPod classic?

I wanted to get a new music player, and was considering the above two choices and a zen. i have now narrowed down my choices to the newest nano and the classic.

i have enough money for either, but i'm not sure which one is better. does anyone know which would be more reliable and less likely to break, etc.?

    thanks

  • Which Music Player: Zen Mozaic or 4th Generation Ipod Nano?

i'm in the market for a new music player. my laptop crashed, and i didn't have the songs backed up, so i have no music at all and i can start on a completely new slate. i've saved enough money, and i believe i have enough for either one.

which brings me to my conundrum: i can't decide whether to go with the 4th gen. nano or the mozaic.

as music fans yourselves, i thought that i might ask this question here as well as in the music players section to get a little more input. it's a lot of money to spend, and i want to make sure that i make the right choice!

so, i'd really appreciate it if you could give me your opinion, and why whichever one you thought was better was superior to the other.

    Thanks!

so, which one would you recommend and why?

  • What are some good literary classics? (see for details)?

I'd like to start reading some literary classics. But since I'm just starting out, what would be some good books that aren't too difficult or confusing for me to read? (I'm only fourteen years old, but I have a high reading standard.)

    Thanks for all your help!

  • Some good Nightwish songs, please?

I've heard a few songs by nightwish, and am interested in hearing more. what would you all recommend?

oh, and here are the songs I have currently on my itunes by them:

    - beauty and the beast

    - phantom of the opera

    - bye bye beautiful

    - amaranth

    - for the heart i once had

    - nemo

    - wish i had an angel

    - wishmaster

i also tend to like the old nightwish, with tarja turunen, better than the new, so what would be some good songs from that era?

thanks a lot for all your help (in advance)

  • What is the difference between Otep and Opeth?

i'm so confused!!! they sound almost exactly the same. why couldn't they have picked different sounding names, for the sake of my sanity?

oh, and are they any good, by the way?

    thanks for any help.

  • Music Recommendations, R P!

i'd like to branch out a lot in my musical options...listen to more classic bands such as black sabbath, judas priest, led zeppelin, iron maiden, etc. as well as the beatles.

some good songs would be appreciated for me to sample...other bands too, and not just the ones i've listed. even if it's not classic, i'd like to have some recommendations.

thanks for your help (in advance)

  • In your music, do you prefer singing or screaming vocals?

i myself lean a bit towards the singing side...it just takes me more time to accustom myself to screams, especially if it takes up all of the vocals in the song.

plus, i like to sing along, and i can't scream to save my life. (my brother can though- he's nine and it's so funny when he growls along to dethklok's dethjingle)

then again, it depends on the band. some bands just sound best with a singer, others are best with a screamer.

    opinions?

  • If you could be friends with any character from literature, who would it be?

this also goes for girlfriend/boyfriend, spouse, etc.

for me, i'd like my best girl friend to be elizabeth bennet from pride and prejudice, and my guy friend would be either sam or pippin (or both!) from lord of the rings

  • relating good music to bad books- a wholly original twilight question- drinkers appreciated!?

these are the lyrics to the song everybody's fool by evanescence

    perfect by nature

    icons of self-indulgence

    just what we all need

more lies about a world that

(never was and never will be

have you no shame don't you see me?

you know you've got everybody fooled)

    look here she comes now

bow down and stare in wonder

    oh how we love you

    no flaws when you're pretending

    but now i know she

(never was and never will be

you don't know how you've betrayed me

and somehow you've got everybody fooled)

    without the mask

    where will you hide?

    can't find yourself

    lost in your lies

    i know the truth now

    i know who you are

and i don't love you anymore

(it never was and never will be

you don't know how you've betrayed me

and somehow you've got everybody fooled

never was and never will be

you're not real and you can't save me

and somehow now you're everybody's fool)

doesn't this song relate perfectly to edward (the false perfect man), stupid bella for believing

  • What are the coolest lyric(s) in a r/p song in your opinion?

    mine include...

'are you talking to me?! NO WAY PUNK!' from walk by pantera. i just laugh out loud every single time i hear that

'fear is only in our minds, but it's taking over all our time' from sweet sacrifice by evanescence. it's totally true...

can't remember any others right now...just asking out of interest, boredom, and the desire to make my points a nice round 1700. (do i have ocd or something?!?)

    thanks anyways!

  • In a novel...?

do you think it's off-putting when a major (or even the principal) character dies at the end?

    examples of this?

and the reason for this seemingly random question? well, i'm writing a novel and deciding whether to kill off my leading lady at the very end.

    any help would be appreciated!

    thanks!

  • for a book i'm writing, a question about when a child could realize that slavery is wrong?

if this child was born into a society that condoned slavery, at what age do you think that the child might come to realize that slavery is not morally right?

this is just a question i was wondering if i could get some responses and reasons why...

thanks so much (in advance) for your help!

  • Which of the Seven Deadly Sins would these Characters have?

in the novel i'm *attempting* to write, i'm trying to get a better feel for my characters by filling out a character survey found on charlottedillon.com...

and i'm having trouble trying to think of what deadly sin i'd like two of my main characters to have (the third i've decided already)...

the first one's a girl- she's clever and compassionate, but can be fickle, selfish, impulsive, and vengeful.

the second's a guy- he's very loyal and honest, but has low self-confidence, and is hesitant, timid, and yielding, and sometimes finds that he lacks the courage to do what he knows is right.

which of the seven deadly sins would suit each of these characters?

    thanks for your help!

(and if you're saying that i should think of of characteristics for my own creations, there's no point in you answering...i'm just taking opinions here)
