  • I am having a problem growing Oriental Poppies from seed, (Papaver Orientalis)?

I can get the seeds to start and get about 1/2 Inch tall, then they start to die. I am trying to do my best to follow the planting instructions. I am using a general type of Potting Soil. The plants are being germinated on my front porch where it seldom gets down to freezing. Should I start them in the house where it is warmer until they get to a size for transplanting? I live in the Bay Area in San Jose, CA. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
