  • Will this RAM work with my Mac Mini?

I'm looking at getting these sticks of RAM (4GBx2): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Komputerbay-DDR3-SODIMM-10...

However I'm unsure whether they'll work with my Mac Mini.

Obviously I have the 2GB that the Mini comes with, but I'm just not sure if the machine supports using 4GB sticks (or even this kind of RAM). And will 8GB be too much for the machine?

    Please Help,

Sorry I'm a bit of a RAM noob,

    Regards,

    Joe

  • How good is my music? (Review please)?

    Hi,

I've recently decided to start doing a bit of music on the side of my daily life - and I need some opinions on it.

I'd love it if as many people as possible could answer with their opinions as I'm not sure:

    a) If anybody likes it

    b) If I should pursue it

The link to my Bandcamp (with the only song on there being the one I'm looking for opinions on) is as follows: http://joesavage.bandcamp.com/

    Best Regards,

    Joe

  • Is a Mac worth spending life savings on?

    Hi,

I'm a 15 year old student and have managed to accumulate around £800 (GBP) of savings.

I currently have a pretty decent, quad core PC which I use for all my tasks at the moment (video editing, photo editing, development, gaming). I've been looking at getting a Mac Mini for tasks such as development (Coda, TextMate, TextExpander, iPhone development), multimedia editing (iMovie/Final Cut, Garageband etc) and portable usage (since it's a Mini - it's very easy to take around with a tiny monitor).

I'm planning to continue using my PC for some tasks such as gaming and other things - however I think having a Mac machine could really help me.

My issue with getting one is that they're very expensive. If I wanted to get one, I'd have to spend all of my life savings (which are really meant for me later in life to go towards a car or something) and I'm just unsure if it is worth spending all of this money on a Mac or not (I'm unsure whether the iPhone development and enhanced multimedia editing will make me enough to justify the investment).

Do you think I should spend it all on a Mac, or not?

    Regards,

    Joe

  • Decent capture card for ~$160(USD)?

    Hi,

I run a YouTube channel at YouTube.com/DevHQLessons but a few months ago I decided that I wanted to do some gaming videos. So the channel, DevHQGaming was born.

I got a cheap EzCap which worked for a while and has made me decide that I do like doing gaming videos and shall continue to do them - however it used to play up a lot (and I can no longer to get it to work at all) and I am tired of the extremely low quality in video and audio.

I'm sure there must be better alternatives out there - I need something that can record my PS3 and Gamecube in decent quality with good audio quality for ~£100 or less (Slightly over 100 is fine).

Note that £100 (GBP) is around 160 USD. Also note that if there is an even more expensive or cheap alternatives - could you list those too? It'd be great to know all the options out there

    Please Help,

    Thanks In Advance,

    Joe

  • HELP - What to do, stolen credit card purchase!!!?

I recently spoke to someone on MSN and they bought me 3 really expensive items on Amazon (worth 3K!). They only got my address and name (which they can't do anything with), however the card could be stolen so I would get the blame for stealing it!

I've reported the incident to Amazon and explained the situation (told them to investigate).

Is there anything else I can do?

I DON'T WANT TO GO TO PRISON!!

    PLEASE HELP

  • Installing iLife without 1GB of RAM..?

    Hi,

I recently tried to install iLife '11 on my Mac - however since I don't have a gig of RAM I can't actually install it ("iLife '11 requires at least 1GB of RAM").

Is there some kind of work around so that I can get it to install even though I don't have the specs needed? (I don't care how slowly it runs).

    Please Help,

    Thanks,

    Joe

  • Ibanez RGR321 or ART120?

    Hi,

I'm about to buy a new guitar & amp; and I've managed to narrow it down to the Ibanez RGR321 with a Line 6 SpiderIV or an Ibanez ART120 with a Fender Mustang 1.

I love both of the guitars, and I love both of the amps - I'm not sure which one to choose.

I'm looking for something very versatile, and both seem so...

This isn't my first guitar as I've played acoustic for around 6 years now, although this is my first electric guitar (that means I'm not bothered about having a guitar easy for beginners).

Also I'm not sure about the amps (but I definitely want one of these two)..

    Please help me decide,

    Thanks In Advance,

    Joe

  • How can I make a video with two videos on-screen?

    Hi,

I want to do a Playstation Move game review and need to have the game footage on the main bit of the video, and then me waving around the controller in the bottom right hand corner..

I now have the devices the record the PS3 and I can use the camera to record myself, I just need to be able to put the two together into one clip..

Is there any ways to do this for free?

    Please Help,

    Thanks In Advance,

  • Syntax Highlighting in Ruby On Rails?

    Hi,

I've recently been looking into syntax highlighting in Ruby on Rails.

I need something that can support these languages:

    C++

    Lua

    Visual Basic

    HTML/XHTML

    CSS

    Javascript

    Java

    Ruby on Rails

I don't mind if the highlighters are an RoR plugin, or any other type (for example like a javascript highlighter).

All I need is it to support those languages AND for me to be able to write inline as well as out of line.

    For example:

Then we call the <code>getch();</code> function. - This would be inline

    Please Help,

    Thanks In Advance,

    Joe

  • Why has WoW created "Noidfg" characters on my account?

I recently was looking on my WoW armory on the iPod Touch, and I noticed some characters named "Noidfg"; I was a bit freaked out by this since I hadn't created them, so I logged onto the game on my laptop and noticed there was around 10 of them on different realms.

I've already changed my password (incase someone had hacked my account (although due to my current location, I've had to change it on a public network :S (at least it's a https though))).

Is there any other safety precautions I should take?

    Thanks In Advance,

    Joe

  • How to "convert" my XHTML site into HTML 5?

I've currently got a site which runs very well in strict XHTML; however the buzz of HTML 5 has reached me, and I realise I can start creating something in HTML5 (although may not put it online yet as not everyone supports HTML 5 and CSS3 yet). Is there such thing as XHTML 5? I just want to use the HTML 5 features in my XHTML documents, I like the clean and tidiness or XHTML; and I've got many pages written in XHTML (it would take me AGES to change), so how can I use these HTML5 features while in XHTML?

  • How can I recover files after installing a new OS?

I've recently installed ubuntu over an old windows XP system, I'm pretty sure I wiped out all the XP files when in the "disk partition" options, so the only partition is in ubuntu I think.

I've only just realized many old photos that I really REALLY want back were on the XP computer (controlled by some type of photo managing program that came with the camera).

I know its unlikely that I can recover these photos but PLEASE HELP, I really want these photos back and I'm not bothered what happens to the now installed ubuntu system.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Thanks In Advance,

    Joe

  • How to get rounded rectangles with shadows in CSS?

I've recently made a new design idea for a site, however I've used various effects which I don't know how to apply without images. I would prefferable use images, however the content section auto extends so if I used a div with a background the rounded corners image would repeat in the middle of the content..

Has anyone got any ideas how I can acheive this using (images and) CSS?
