  • Wedding invitation wording?

I know it is customary for wedding invitations to have the bride and groom's parents' names, ie, "Christine P, daughter of Mom P and Dad P..."

But, the issue is that my parents divorced when I was very young. I always saw my father, but my step-father was more of a paternal figure to me. I feel like it would be a slap in the face to my step-dad if I were to list my father on the invitation. But, of course, it would be horrible to my father to see my step-dad's name in his place (and not to mention inaccurate, seeing as he's not really my father).

I was thinking I could just leave that off the invitations all together, but there is a strong possibility that my mom and step-dad will be paying for a portion of the wedding, and I don't want to seem ungrateful if I don't mention them on the invitation.

Any ideas how this could be handled?

  • Legally required breaks and time clock adjustments?

My boyfriend recently discovered that one of the managers in his store frequently adjusts employees' time clocks to reflect a 30 minute lunch break if they clock out for less than 30 minutes.

It seems to me that this is illegal, and the correct course of action would be to discipline the employees that are not taking the full 30 minutes in another way.

Is it illegal to adjust the time clocks in this manner? And, is it *legally required* that people take a 30 minute break for 8 hours of work? Could the company get in trouble if it was seen that people were not taking the full time entitled to them if they did it voluntarily?

    Thank you!

  • Do factory installed XM radios have similar features to external units?

I am considering getting a new car (probably Scion or Toyota) with the XM radio option. But, my favorite feature about my current XM is the TuneSelect, which lets you keep a number of artists or songs in memory and tells you when another station is playing one of them. Does anyone know if the factory installed radios have this feature?

  • Is it possible to connect my PC speakers directly to my HDTV?

I have a powered sub woofer that used to run 2 3.5mm (i think thats the size) to my PC's audio card, one was front and the other rear.

I would like to connect this to my HD Television, which currently has two digital audio outputs, Coaxial, and Optical.

I want to get a cord/cable that will send out either Coaxial or Optical audio, and then split it into two 3.5mm male audio jacks.

I truly don't care about amazing clarity, or awesome quality, I just want it to work.

I've looked for splitters, adapters, and have thus far come up short. Things have come close (as far as I can tell), but nothing has made me feel like it's a perfect match.

I don't want to order something, wait several days for it to show up, and then become disappointed.

    Please, help me.
