How do I tell my boyfriend that I want him to get a more stable job?
I am a PA student and I m dating a guy that has made a sort of career out of making gaming videos on YouTube. He is extremely driven and committed to it, making nearly $1500 monthly on it with 140k subscribers. He is always making videos, trying to make the channel better, and even talks with a manager. He states that "YouTube is the future" and really sees it being able to become a stable career long-term. However both myself (and my parents) are concerned that, if (and when) it fails, what his backup plan would be since he doesn t have a college degree. I know that he absolutely loves doing this now, and has told me that he is currently doing his "dream job" so I really don t want to offend him and I do support him, but I d like him to just take a step back and work on maybe getting his degree or at least some sort of certificate so he could ultimately get a much more stable job. How do I tell him this without offending him?
35 AnswersSingles & Dating3 years agoBlack granules seen inside of some bacteria cells under the microscope - what could they be?
I originally thought that they could be endospores, but doing further analysis as to the nature of the bacteria (Acinetobacter) I found that this genus doesn't produce endospores...
1 AnswerBiology4 years agoWhen you re caught talking about someone behind their back what do you do?
I have to work with a partner at work once a week. There have been a lot of legal things surrounding this partner and my friend was informing me of what had happened the day prior. Suddenly he told me to "shush" and got quiet and a few seconds later my partner came over and was like "Wow, thats not obvious at all, thanks guys."
After she left, he went inside and told her that he was telling me about something else. Then she proceeds to send a text message to the both of us saying, "Really? Next time you have stuff to say, say it to my face. You were caught in the act. Own up to it."
I have been avoiding her since...and its been like an hour. And I have to work with her today.
What should I do? Apologize straight up? Only bring it up if she does?

1 AnswerPhysics4 years agoCircuits - How do you eliminate the variable "i" using these two equations?
Equation 1 (derived from given circuit):
E-ir-iR = 0
Equation 2, voltage across the cell as measured by the voltmeter = V=E-ir
Apparently, eliminating i from these two equations gives r = ((E-V)R)/V
How do you set up the two so that this elimination occurs? Is it a regular elimination using systems of equations?
1 AnswerPhysics5 years agoWhen finding current using formula (V/R)=i, do you have to convert units of given R..?
A 10.0m long piece of wire has a diameter of 4.00mm. Its resistance is found to be 41.8m Ohms. A voltage of 25.0 V is applied across the wire. Find the current in the wire.
Answer (given by professor) =
(V/R)=i
(25/0.0418) = 598 A
I don't understand how 41.8m Ohms was converted to 0.0418. I'm guessing it is due to the fact that the current is being passed through a wire only 4.00mm thick - but isn't R suppost to be a constant? Thanks.
2 AnswersPhysics5 years agoWhy would you subtract two masses to get a new mass of one of the reactants? (Buffer problem)?
Problem - 150 ml of 0.1 M NaOH is added to 200 ml of 0.1 M formic acid and water is added to give a final volume of 1L. What is the pH of the final solution?
CH2O2 + NaOH --> CHO2- + H2O
I calculated that the moles of CH2O2 = 0.015 mol and NaOH = 0.02 mol, subtracted the two to get the moles of CHO2- and then plugged into henderson hasselbach.
However the answer key is saying to subtract the 0.015-0.02 in order to get the moles of CH2O2, and not for the conjugate base like what I did.
Why would you do this?? I don't get it. Didn't it already give you moles of formic acid so you'd use the difference between the two for calculating the moles of the CHO2- ??
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoPrepping buffer solution without using Henderson Hasselbach...help please?
This is my current problem:
I need to create a buffer solution made of 0.010 M TrisHCl, and 0.100 M NaCl with a pH of 7.4 at a volume of 200 mL.
My professor had me calculate each amount of acid or base required for both a 200 mL 0.010 M solution of Tris HCl and a 0.100 M solution at 200 mL for NaCl.
For those I got the Tris HCl to need 0.315 g, and NaCl to need 1.169 g.
My question is, how do I get it to a pH of 7.4 without compromising the molarity of acid/base?? I know that to shift the pH you add either acid or base but with this since I m stuck at specific values for each I don t see how that is possible.
She also mentioned to titrate it down once the pH level is reached...confused with that as well.
Thanks!
PS: Yes she did say to NOT use Henderson Hasselbach for this.
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoHow to figure out how much of acid/conj base for a buffer of 100 mL?
I need to determine the amount of conj base and acid, in grams, to make a 100 mL of 100mM phosphate buffer with ph of 7.2. I'm using NaH2PO4 and Na2HPO4.
I calculated that I need 29 mM of NaH2PO4 (acid) and 71 mM of Na2HPO4 (conj base). I know that to get 1 L of this you'd add these mM amounts of both and then fill with DI water up to 1L.....but what about for 100mL? Just fill the DI water to 100 mL??
Also additional q - my teacher put naH2PO4*H2O and Na2HPO4*7H2O ... does the H2O need to be included in these calculations or does it really not make a difference because were filling with DI water anyway?

3 AnswersChemistry6 years agoAcc to effective nuclear charge, why does Valadium lose its 4s e- rather than its 3d e- to become ionized?
I calculated the Zeff value for a 4s electron of Valadium to be 5.85, and that of a 3d electron to be 4.30. Hopefully that s correct.
I understand that as the atoms get larger, so does Zeff, so it s going to be harder to remove the outermost electrons compared to elements with lower atomic numbers (and have higher IE). But why exactly does Valadium lose its 4s electron instead of its 3d electron?
2 AnswersChemistry6 years agoHow the heck do I get this product? (Organolithium reagent w/ formaldehyde, THF, acid)..?
I get as far as to perform an SN2, which will add an additional carbon to the 3-carbon chain with the oxygen on the end, negatively charged. But there must be some sort of rearrangement/additional SN2 attack...?
