What has happened to the media's ability to perceive satire?
The Washington Post spent an entire article discussing a satirical blog post by Ken Jennings without realizing that it was satire. In fact, they cut it to shreds so badly that I thought he was going off on Jeopardy until I read the post.
Now I just watched an entire 5 minute spot on Today discussing "Retrosexuals" that pointed to the self-depricating commercials by Dial and Burger King. Strangely they ignored any comedic value of the commercials and thought that it was a sign of a revolution by men against metrosexuality.
What is going on that the media (and a lot of their viewers) have no grasp of comedy?
3 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoWhat is Israel thinking?
Ok, I know the history of Israel and its neighbors, I have answered that question a lot. But what idiot attacks not only a clearly marked International Red Cross truck that is alone on a highway, but also a clearly marked, known UN Peace Keeping observer station?
Can anyone give me one reason Israel would have to justify this?
19 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoWhat do I do if no answer is correct?
I asked a question here on yahoo answers and have gotten two answers. One is 100% wrong, the other is just a rant (albiet one I agree with). If I put it up for voting one of these unuseful answers could be chosen as a best answer if one of the answerers votes for his (or hers) and noone else votes.
I don't really want to delete it, what do I do?
