I'm here mostly to spread the word about topics I feel strongly about. I'm a full-time barefooter, and while I live in the Netherlands where it's never a problem to go into stores, restaurants or anywhere barefoot, I think it's very sad that many US folks are so biased against it. In spite of persistent myths it's NOT against the law to go barefoot in stores or restaurants, insurance companies don't even recommend footwear for customers, there are NO laws prohibiting barefoot driving. Nor are you likely to pick up diseases or parasites or get cut; our skin is made to keep pathogens out and especially when you go barefoot regularly it's very, very tough! See http://www.barefooters.org or my answers for more information. Another issue I feel strongly about is declawing; not only is it cruel, it's completely unnecessary. I live in Europe where it's illegal, we have lots of cats (with claws, obviously), lots of nice furniture, lots of babies. If we can train our cats, why can't Americans?
Violation help?
Okay, my turn to get a violation and I don't really understand why -I really don't believe I'm being rude, chatty, or mean. What I say about going barefoot may seem strange to some but is totally true. I did include links to the Vibram & Pocketslippers sites, but no affiliate links, I'm not involved with those companies and that *was* what was asked for (I got picked as best too). Unfortunately a few people are very much opposed to bare feet and believe it is indecent to go barefoot but to most of us bare feet aren't private parts and I certainly don't think it's inappropriate content to just *post* about it! I don't care about the points or seeing the answer replaced but I do want to know what's wrong so I can avoid it in the future, and Y!A support only gave the standard 'read the guidelines' answer. Which I did and I still don't know which rule applied here. Anyone?
Question & answer in additional details 'cause I run out of space here. Thank you!
