Where is the Oil Pressure Sending Unit on a 1998 Ford Explorer 4.0 pushrod V-6 4x4 (non-sport model)?
I am trying to find the unit so that I can replace it. I hear that they fail aroud 90 to 120 thousand miles. My Eplorer is showing no oil pressure inside the vehicle on the instrumentation, however, I am sure that oil is flowing thru the engine. I just need to find the unit that needs replacement. I have the new one ($8). I have been told that they are by the oil filter. It does not appear to be there. Someone else said the other side of the engine (drivers side). I don't seem to see it there either. The engine compartment is cramped and very hard to see around everything. I have a 4.0 pushrod V-6 (not the SOHC engine). If someone has changed this before, please describe where it is and approximately how many inches in each direction to locate it if possible. I have felt around all over the lower part of the engine, but do not find it. I know that I should be able to find the wire going to it, but I'm not having any luck. Anyone who can help, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoDoes anyone have any experience with Hyosung (Korean) Motorcycles?
What is their quality level? I just read in one of my motorcycle magazines that they are a good bike, but they are heavier than Japanese bikes and don't have enough price difference to make them a better buy than the big name brands. If anyone owns one, please tell me what model and your overall experience with it so far. I have a chance to pick one up for a pretty good price from a friend who laid one down and scratched it up pretty good. Any sincere input would really be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
