My name is Aria, I'm a free spirit, British by birth but right now living in the Caribbean. I'm pregnant with my first child after being told it was impossible so that just strengthened my faith in the universe and my belief that if something's meant to happen, it will. I'm not much different from anyone else really, but I'm not a conformist, just that everyone's an individual so we all have that in common. You're just you. I'm just me.

  • Questions about Coralie Rosa-Maria for a girl?

My baby's name will be Coralie Rosa-Maria Vidal.

Coralie is a name I've always loved, Rosa has very strong sentimental value as it means rose which is a strong symbolic reference to my grandfather, and my grandma's name is Maria. I want 2 middles as if I have a boy he will have 2 middles as well, plus if she finds it too much she can remove one or both so no comments about that please!

    So..

    ❥Does it flow?

❥What kind of personality do you think a girl with this name would have?

❥The baby is half Dominican and from our features will probably be a light Hispanic tan colour with black very curly hair and brown or green eyes. Will the name suit her?

❥I saw a question on here about assigning colours to names - what colour would this name be?

    ❥Do you like it?

    Thanks so much!

  • Any home remedies or natural ways to soothe mosquito bites?

I can't wait to get out of this country!!!! The latest problem is mosquitoes. I've tried 3 different repellents, 2 that are supposed to kill, and they just dont stop.

On my outer thigh only I have more than 30 bites and my feet are so covered in bites they look like they have some terrible rash.

As you can imagine, the itching is unbearable. However I'm 14 weeks pregnant and have been advised to stay away from hydrocortisone cream which is the only thing available here (very expensive but available) for soothing it.

I've already had dengue fever when I first arrived so I'm not too worried about that, I just want to soothe this itching all over my legs, arms and my poor feet! No access to aloe vera.

    Any ideas?

  • How to get over these nerves? Can't eat or sleep. Please read this time!?

    Please read..

I've been living in the Dominican Republic for 8 months now and being pregnant I'm flying back home as the living conditions here are nowhere near suitable. I'm glad to be going home but I'm having sleepless nights and can't eat from nerves regarding this flight.

Im not scared of flying, its that this flight will be so stressful. When I was coming here I had a 4 hour stop in Frankfurt, one of the biggest airports in Europe and I don't speak good German, they had no idea what the Dominican Republic was and tried to send me to the wrong place, eventually I had to take a small train to another part of the airport where I found there was absolutely nowhere to get something to eat. So I waited, they don't call out the flights like they do elsewhere, they just open the gate and assume everyone will notice so I almost missed my flight.

Then came that flight, 11 hours with nothing to do and a splitting migraine sitting next to a complete stranger. About half way through the flight I just went to the bathroom and threw up and cried. I would have been thankful for an emergency landing and just to be sent back to the UK, I felt like a 5 year old in a crowded place without its family.

After it was over (which seemed like 3 days) I arrived there, I got my bags then went out to meet my fiancé and his dad. I got to the car then passed out - the next thing I remember after seeing the car and thinking it was nice is my mother in law looking down on me putting a cool cloth on my head, then I just drifted off again. I was asleep and pretty much comatose for 2 days. It was hands down the worst experience of my life.

Was my first experience just bad because of the heat here and the fact I was scared, moving without ever seeing it? How can I stop thinking about it for a while?

    Help please!

  • What's the most ridiculous/unbelievable name you've ever encountered in real life?

If you don't have one how about just the ugliest name?

I'm not trying to trash names here, just want to see what crazy names are out there and which names you guys don't like!

I can't decide which is worse of these:

~Jackendof (boy) - just me or does it sound like jacking off?

~Grismarly (girl) - could anyone actually find this pretty? Also seems made up.

~Framk (boy) - nope, not a typo.. FRAMK. Dominicans have started using English names but have trouble with spelling and pronunciation, this, pronounced Frang, was an attempt at Frank.

~Caravan (girl) - maternal grandmother was named Cara and paternal grandmother named Vanessa.. Even Caressa would have been better!

What do you think of these "names"? Share your own crazy name experiences!

  • How to fry food without oil spitting everywhere!?

I usually stick to things that don't involve frying but I really want to broaden my horizons when it comes to cooking!

However I'm clearly doing something wrong - I tried to fry some bacon a few weeks ago and my feet and my arm were covered in little burns from the oil spitting out! This happens as soon as I put the food in the pan, it spits out of the pan like a firework!

I've never seen this happen when anyone else fries. What can I be doing wrong? I'm starting to be a bit scared of frying food as the burns are painful and this makes it worse as I try to stand as far away as possible - and half-throwing the food in from far away makes the oil spit even more.

Please help, I just don't get it and can't find any tips on google!

  • 14 weeks pregnant unable to eat please don't ignore..?

I know its long but please please read!

I live in a place with limited electricity and yesterday it only came for 15 minutes at a time, twice during the course of the day. This wasn't even long enough for the running water to start working and I only had the fan for those short intervals. It was just over 43 degrees celsius (110 fahrenheit) but being originally from Scotland where it rarely gets above 10 Celsius (50 Fahrenheit) it felt like being cooked alive!

I got a bad migraine and vomited a few times (once food, I couldn't eat for the rest of the day so the other times it was just water or acid.)

Yesterday I couldn't even keep water down but today the headache is still there but not half as bad, but I just can't eat. I have no appetite at all, my fiancé brought me pica pollo (fried chicken and plantain chips) as I've been craving that but I had to force myself to eat 1 plantain chip and take a bite of the chicken and felt like I was going to throw up. I let him eat it and tried a piece of bread but I had to force one bite down with water and after that it was like my body wouldn't even allow me to eat more, my throat just closed up. It's now almost 1am and I've had no appetite all day when I usually really like food.

I didn't mention I have a flight coming up on Monday - I'm going home until after the baby's born, it's best for us but I'm dreading the flight. That flight coming here was the worst experience I've ever had, I was emotionally, mentally and physically drained for days after it.

Could it be nerves regarding the flight or is it due to the heatstroke I suffered yesterday?

Don't tell me to go to the doctor, most won't treat me as I don't have a cedula (residence ID card) and the ones who will are very expensive and most are very rude and unprofessional, but the main point is I just can't pay for it at the moment.

    Thanks

  • Parents: do you ever regret the names you gave your kids?

My mum gave me a curse of a name that got me constantly bullied in school and college and even laughed at in adult life and she never regretted giving me it so I'm guessing you don't really regret baby names.

But I'm pregnant now and have changed my mind a lot about names and I was thinking what if I end up regretting the name or not liking it any more.. Has this happened to any of you? Do you think the names you gave your kids suit them? Do you still like them? Have you ever regretted them?

If you like you can say what their names are and if you do regret it why :)

  • Middle name help for baby girl?

I'd like 2 middle names as if I ever have a boy he will have 2 middles (George, my grandfathers name, and my fiance's name which he insists be put in there. Lets not go into that.) anyway while discussing this I realized I love the 2 middle name thing! But now I can't decide on a combo.. Help!

First name is not Caroline or Coraline it's Coralie a French form of Coral pronounced COR-uh-lee.

Rose has sentimental meaning to my family (my grandfather gave my grandma a yellow rose every day as they had yellow roses at their wedding and eventually we had a lot of roses at grandpa's funeral), Margrit-Maria is my grandma's name. So no filler comments.

    •Coralie Rose Maria

    •Coralie Winter Lily

    •Coralie India Rose

    •Coralie Hope Maria

    •Coralie Rose Leilani

    •Coralie Fleur Maria

•Coralie Rosa Amarillis (meaning yellow rose)

Opinions on each one and tell me which is your favourite!

BQ: would it be better to hyphen them? Eg. Coralie Winter-Lily Vidal :)

  • Does Coco work as a nickname for Coralie?

I'm naming my baby Coralie and I love the nickname Coco but since Coralie is pronounced with a "caw" sound (COR-uh-lee) and not a "koe" sound I'm not sure if it works!

Is Coco too far from Coralie to be a nickname?

  • WDYT of my final choices for baby names?

    Girl: Coralie Rose-Maria Vidal

~Rose has meaning to the family as my grandparents had a rose garden and my late grandfather used to give my grandma a yellow rose almost every day as they had a meaning to them, they had them at their wedding and ultimately my grandma laid a bunch of yellow roses on his coffin at his funeral, so it's my way of honoring my grandpa. Maria is a family name in both mine and my fiance's families.

    Boy: Ruben George

~George was the name of my late grandfather, he was like a dad to me so it's important to me to have his name in there.

  • Some feminine, pretty middle names for this girls name?

I've decided on Coralie as a girls name. Pronounced COR-uh-lee :)

The last name is Vidal (vee-DAHL).

    I need middle name ideas!

I'm looking for feminine, classy names but I also like unusual names so anything is greatly appreciated!

I was thinking Coralie Maria as my grandmas name is Maria but I'm not sure if it flows well with all the hard E sounds - at the end of Coralie, middle of Maria and the start of Vidal.

BQ: what do you think of Ruben George? George is my late grandfather who I want to honour in the name and I love Ruben, it's pretty much set in stone as my boys pick. Opinions?

    Thanks!

  • 4 months pregnant is it normal that I can't stand sex with my fiancé?

My fiancé and I have issues regarding his dishonesty and using my money without permission, I'm British and living in the Dominican Republic and the living conditions are awful, but I've never completely gone off sex.

I still have a high libido and have taken to watching adult videos and reading erotic literature, and almost every night I have sexual dreams (although they're about someone else), but I can't stand the idea of sex with him. The idea of even giving him oral sex (which is something I usually enjoy doing) makes me nauseous. The other day he got me to masturbate him and when the semen hit my hand I felt sick and had to go to wash my hands when before.. well lets not go too into detail but I wouldn't have done that.

I'm leaving the country to get health care and have the baby in my own country in 2 weeks and he wants to have as much sex as possible before I go and I don't understand why I can't feel the same.

He says its probably my hormones but I'm not sure as there are details I know that he doesn't, he thinks I just hate sex now - but why was I able to perform oral sex and like it when thinking that it was someone else? I still have a very high sex drive but just can't stand the thought of it with him. Could it be hormones? Is this normal?

    Please help!

  • Is it hormones or do I like him?

I'm not a pre teen with a crush, I'm a 20 year old woman and I'm engaged (although my fiance doesn't treat me very well, lying, taking money without asking, stuff like that) and 4 months pregnant.

When I first met my fiance's cousin (they're both 21) I found him physically attractive as does any other female, and I'm sure some males, with a pulse.

But its become more than that - he's very warm and caring and is the complete opposite of my fiancé. The physical attraction has turned to a burning lust and I think there could even be more to it than that. I find myself thinking about him sometimes, like if I ask my fiancé something 4 times and he just ignores me and keeps playing with his phone, I think "(cousin) wouldn't act so immaturely", or when he walks out with no warning and won't say where he's going I think "(cousin) wouldn't do that."

Also in the past week I've dreamed about him 3 times, twice sexually and once we were just talking.

He moved to the US a few days ago (I'm British but live in the Dominican Republic, he's Dominican) and I found myself feeling very sad about that and angry with my fiancé for not mentioning it when his cousin had asked him to let me know he was leaving and pass on a message saying to take care of myself and the baby (my mother in law mentioned it, my fiancé said he didn't see why we should care)

I'm afraid I'm starting to have feelings for him but that's completely inappropriate as he's the first cousin of the father of my baby!

Could it just be my hormones?

    Give me some advice please..
