What note does the first oboe play in the third movement trio of Bizet's symphony in C?

Is it a b or b♭ (flat)?

I have this question in my textbook but have no idea how to solve it, if someone could show me how I'd be very grateful.

f(x) = 1 / [(1 - x)(1 - 2x)]

The first 4 terms which have been worked out in a previous part of the question are:

1 + 3x + 7x² + 15x^3

It then says: Determine the coefficient of x^n in the series expansion of f(x).

The answer is:

2^(n + 1) - 1

I have no idea how to get to it, I thought you might need to use a geometric progression but I can't get it to work.

(This is question 3(d) from the Chapter 1 Mixed exercise in the AQA Core 4 A-level textbook).

The question says to factorise the 3x3 determinant:

a^1 b^1 c^1

a^2 b^2 c^2

a^3 b^3 c^3

Apparently the answer should be:

2abc(a - b) (b - c) (c - a)

I am not really sure how to get this answer and would appreciate any help.

This is a question from AQA FP4 about matrices.

3 1 = T. T is a transformation matrix which maps the point (x,y) onto the point (x',y').

A) Find the equation of the line onto which the line y + x = 0 is mapped by the transformation.

B) Find the values of m for which the line y = mx is mapped onto itself

Answers:

A) y = x / 2

B) m = 2 or -2

I know the answers are there but I have no idea how to reach them, any help would be greatly appreciated, thankyou.
