  • Lt tire sizes?

Ok guys I've got to buy tires for my dually I just bought that has been lowered in the front and rear, the guy said 3 inches up front, we have rebuilt the whole front end an suspension, but the truck is so low the tires will rub the front fender wells when you hit a bump, It has 17 inch Rockstar wheels on it and the size is 225/75r17, is there a size that's any smaller than that? I would still like to stay with the 10 ply tire as much as possible, thanks for any help! I'm going with 245/75r17 on the rear

  • 96-01 Vortec 454 issues?

Ok guys I'm looking to buy a really clean 2000 model chevrolet 3500 long bed crew cab dually, now I'm about to drive 400 miles from oklahoma to lousiana to look at it and possibly purchase it, I have worked on the vortec 350's and know my way around the vortec series engines(and tbi's) and especially the 88-98 style trucks, but I've only drove the 454 trucks never worked on one, is there any common issues on these engines that I should look into? Correct me if I'm wrong but I know the vortec 350's had an issue blowing intake gaskets, but a vortec 454 doesnt right? It has 195k miles on truck and transmission, I am told the engine has below 60k miles on it, it has been tuned and the egr system has been removed, it has long tube headers and cold air intake, if anybody could put in any input about these engines I would greatly appreciate it! The truck has also had the factory 4.11 gear swapped out for a 3.73 for anybody that has done this what's the fuel mileage increase if any? Thanks again for any input

  • 94 f150 belt will not stay on?

I have a 94 ford lightning with the 5.8 in it, I've change the belt tensioner twice within 1 week, put 3 different belts on it, changed the idler pulley, but after driving it roughly 100 miles the belt will start to work itself off off the harmonic balancer pulley and will cut off the first 2-3 ribs on the belt, I've also just put on another pulley on the harmonic balancer. The other pulleys and accessories are fine, and do not wobble or shake in any way. If anybody could put any input on it that be great thanks

  • sub woofer amp question?

Ok I have been toying around with car audio for a few years now but i only use like rockford, alpine, kenwood, kicker the higher end name brands, i helped my cousin do an install about a year ago now we put 1 10 R1 rockford prime sub in his truck powered by a kicker 125.1 amp it worked fine, but here about 2 weeks ago now we built a box and put a second R1 10' rockford and he bought a used diamond amp( i know they are cheaper) from a friend of mine (i seen it work) and he put it in and the amp powers on but don't send any signal to the subs i checked the terminals on the amp and the sub connection with a test light and nothing was hot, so he put his kicker back on and the power protect light came on an it did the same thing as the diamond amp did, so my question is what do you guys think is wrong with it? Short maybe? it has a cheaper sony head unit anybody ever had a problem with them Sony's not sending a signal to the amp? every wire is plugged in and good from end to end except for the signal cable from radio to amp i cant check them with a test light. thanks for any advice

  • t/c venture or Wby vanguard?

ok my birthday is coming up pretty soon an im wanting another rifle i am stuck on the basic weatherby vanguard and the thompson center venture, i dont know which one to get i cant find much reviews on either, could somebody list some stuff about the two that they like or dont like? I have a budget of about $450-475 so these two rifles fit my budget because i still have to get an optic i assume i will just get a 50mm Nc star or if anybody else could recommend one under $100, if i get a t/c venture they come with scopes so i wont be needing to get one unless it is not a very good scope, i dont know what brand that scope is on them, and i will be buying from cheaper than dirt the shipping and stuff is pretty decent i hear and the guns are cheap , so that's my question thanks in advance
