If I switch the c and herm wires on a capacitor on an air conditioner will it still start? One wire to each on the capacitor?

If I hard boil eggs and put them in the refrigerator, how long on average should they last?
I know if they smell, look or taste funny is one thing, but how long are they usually edible? The eggs are also store bought and not farm fresh if that makes a difference.
