Anyone want to share some positive induction stories, other than the obvious end result?? All of the induction stories I hear are terrible and freak me out! I am so scared of ending up with a C- section and/or a terrible labor. I will be 41 weeks and 2 days when she induces. I am healthy and have had a good pregnancy. I am 2 cm dialted, thinned, lost my plug,and the baby has been super low for over a month now. This is my first. Thank you!!

Hello, I need some words of wisdom and some ideas of how to survive the next few days. I am 40 weeks and 5 days and sick of being pregnant. To make matters worse it is about 90 here and it is killing my energy level. We have a pool but I feel like nothing is helping. I am being induced on Tuesday and really hope she comes before then. I really DO NOT want to be induced but my gut is telling me she does not want to come on her own. I am almost 2 cm dlated and thin and the baby is low. I have a huge increase in discharge the last day or two, it is clear and there is tons of it. Sorry for the TMI. How have other ladies made it through these last terrible days of pregnancy??

I am 40 weeks and 3 days and so sick of this!!! I am being induced on Tuesday if she does not come and I really do not want to be induced. I have been walking, eating spicy food, pineapple, etc. She just will not come out... is there anything I can do that I have not done. I will not try castor oil as I have heard there are risks, anything else?? Thank you../

BTW: I am 1.5cm dilated, thin, baby is low and I have have tons of cramps.... no contractions though... :(

Hello. I am 40 weeks and two days pregnant. I feel like I am ready to go, extra crampy, 1.5 cm dialted and thinned, the baby is super low and I think I just had a bloody show but I am not 100% as I did have an exam today. I am being induced on Tuesday of next week if I do not have her in the next few days. I am scared of L&D now that it is so close. I am more scared of being induced, but either way, I am scared. This is my first!! Thanks!!

Hello, I am due tomarrow. This morning around 5:55 am or so I woke with the worst back pain I have ever felt. It was mostly on my right side and in the middle. It happened about 3 times about 15 minutes apart. I almost woke my husband and make him bring me to the ER but then I fell back to sleep in between them and now it is gone. It is almost 11 am here now. Could it have been any indication of labor coming or was it just my sciatic or something?? I have had sciatic pain throughout this but never like this. It was awful. I am a fingertip dilated, lost my plug 3 weeks ago and the baby is super low. I am so ready for this to be over. Also, the last few days my discharge has decreased signifigantly. I have a doc appt on Tuesday. Thanks ladies..... I appreciate the responses.... :)

Let me clarify. I am 39 weeks and 5 days and only a fingertip dilated. They baby has dropped and I have lost my plug over 3 weeks ago. I know some woman dialte 4 weeks or more before they go into labor but does not dialting much have any effect on labor? Can it come super fast or does it normally progress for weeks before active labor?? I am just getting discouraged and scared of being induced if she does not come in the next week. My doc will induce on the 5th if she has come yet. This is my first.... thanks!!

So frustrating!! I am 39 weeks and 4 days and ready to have this baby. I keep getting labor signs that come and go. Over 2 weeks ago I had an internal and my plug came out 2 days later. Since then I have had extreme cramping and some contractions that disapear. My baby is super low. I am only a fingertip dilated though. Is it common for symptoms to come and go and does that have any bearing on when labor will begin. I am being induced on the 4th if she does not come on the 28th. Thanks...

I am know I am setting myself up to be scared by asking this but I would like to know what I am in for. I am 39 weeks and 3 days. Due on Memorial Day with my first. My doc is inducing me on the 4th if I do not have her on my own. I am terrified of being induced but I do want this pregnancy over.. :) Can you share what it was like for you and what typically happens? Thank you!!

Or is it the norm? I am 39 weeks with my first and my doc will not induce until I am a full 2 weeks past the due date. I feel like that is a little long and frankly it scares me!!! I can understand a week but 2 seems like pure hell to me right now. I may loose my mind if I have another 3 weeks of pregnancy!!! :) I just want to know if that is typical and how often a woman goes 2 weeks past her due date. Thanks!!

Did you know it was coming by the way you felt?? Or did you feel exactly the same as you had been feeling then your water broke or you started contracting? I am just curious as I am 39 weeks and ready to have this baby!!!

Hello. My bady has dropped, I lost my plug, and I am a fingertip dilated and starting to thin. The last 2 days I have felt very sick to my stomach. Is it normal at this stage in pregnancy? This is my first. I have a call into the doctor but wanted some advice until she calls back. Thank you.

With your first pregnancy when did you deliver. Before your due date or after??

Ok, today I went for another ultrasound because my doc is concerned that I am so small for this late in the pregnancy. The baby is measuring about 2 weeks behind. Her estimated weight right now is about 7lbs. I know my last period was August 14th 2006 and that either conceived on August 29,30,31 or September 7th. (Like every couple trying to get pregnant I wrote down everything.) Original due date was May 21st then is was changed at my first ultrasound at 10 weeks to the 28th. I have only gained 24 lbs and have had a pretty decent pregnancy. According to the ultrasound lady the baby has dropped and they cannot get an accurate measurement of her head because she is so low. I started loosing my plug last tuesday and have still been loosing it. I feel like crap today and want her to come out soo bad. My question is, because she is measuring 2 weeks behind, are they going to push my due date back or is it just an estimate? My doc was not available to answer questions today...

did you sleep better than you have in a long time or did you have trouble sleeping??

I am 38 weeks and 2 days pregnant and feeling very frustrated by my doctor. I have had her as my OB for about 8 years and she has always been great, but lately I feel like she is not as competant as she used to be. She always seems like she is in a rush and such. For instance last week she said that I was a fingertip dilated and the head is so far down she thinks it could be anyday. Then today she could not remember that she told me that last week and was asking me what she said. This week she said that she could not tell but she thinks I am starting to thin. It is like she has no idea. After the exam I was bleeding a lot so I asked her to come back in and she did and said that was a lot of blood and she did another internal with the speculum and she said that it looks fine. I was aking her what she meant by fine and she was so evasive and rushed. I feel like I should be being told where my progress is and such and at least having questions answered. Should I switch doctors?

Sorry for the TMI. I need some advice.( I go to the doc in the morning) I am 38 weeks, the baby is super low. So low that today I am actually having a hard time walking and I am having tons of bh and low back pain. I lost my plug on Tuesday night and as of last doctor appointment I was a fingertip dilated. Today my discharge has changed a lot. It is a white milky stuff and quite a bit of it. (I do not have any infections or anything.) Do any ladies have an idea of what this may be, this is our first baby. Thanks and sorry if I grossed anyone out!!

Or can it just feel like a menstrual cramp with no tightening??

Last night I had the worst sharpest pain right in the pubic area and a few inches above it. They felt like horrible menstrual cramps. Then I got up and went to bed and they subsided a tad, now this morning they are gone. I know what Braxton Hicks feel like as I have been having them since about 25 weeks but these were nothing like them as my tummy was not tightening. What were they? I am 37 weeks and 5 days. They baby is very very low. So low my doc said she think they baby will be early. I am a fingertip dilated... thanks everyone.

I am confused. On Tuesday night I lost about a big brown gross glob. About the size of a quarter then following that I had a lot of discharge with brownish, pinkish streaks. Sorry for the TMI, I know it is gross. I assumed it was my plug but according to what I have been reading the plug is not brown in color. What was it then? Or was it my plug? I am 38 weeks on Monday a fingertip dilated. Thank you.
