  • Songs for weddings?

This is more a comment than a question.

Please hear me out before saying "Not country music!"

There have been so many questions about songs, either for the wedding or at the reception, to be sung by a friend or family member, or the band itself.

George Strait did a song, Cross my Heart, in his only movie, Pure Country. It is the last song of the movie and can also be found on CD.

I have heard this song played, but I have also heard people singing it, and making it into the "style" of the couple, instead of the country version.

This song says it all!!!!!!!!! The lyrics are beautiful!!!!!!!

    Check it out!

  • Weddings and the internet!!!!!?

This more a comment than a question.

The internet can be a great tool, such as this site.

But buying wedding gowns online is not a good idea. Until you get it, how do you know it's right for your body and taste? With gowns, in my opinion, you should go to as many shops as possible and actually try on gowns.

Same with invitations. There was a questiion posted here about finding something in particular. By going to an actual store, you'll be able to not only look at invites, but touch them, especially if you're looking for a certain texture.

There are waaaaaaaaay too many things to list here. I have planned or helped plan roughly 25 weddings, most before I was a licensed wedding planner, and most couples stopped looking online, and going to shops, and realized they might have mad a mistake buying online.

I am NOT saying don't use the internet, or do not make purchases online. But going to theses stores may give you better insight, even different ideas, or changes

  • One more try.UNINTENTIONAL WEIGHT LOSS?

PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY. PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS. I AM TRYING TO GAIN WEIGHT, NOT LOSE IT. My caloric intake is 4000-6000 per day.

I am 5'7" tall. My normal weight range should be 140-150, can wear a size 6 jeans at that weight. I feel very healthy at that weight range.

Starting 3/03, I rapidly started losing weight, despite the fact that I was still eating normally. My only exercise for years was being a full-time Mom. My son is now 22.

After a 3-5 months, I was down to 113. I AM NOT ANOREXIC OR BULEMIC!!!!!!

Thyroid is fine, no Diabetes, no cancer, no anemia, basically NO ANSWERS as to why. I have been tested extenxively.

My Maternal Grandfather has been going through this 9 months longer than me, and now my oldest, a 25 year old son started going through this around January this year. Obviously this is something genetic on my maternal side of my family. I have been tested the most extensively.

HAS ANYONE EVER GONE THROUGH THIS?

  • Unintentional weight loss?

I am now a 42 female. I'm 5'7" tall. My normal weight range should be 140-150. I could wear a size 6. I felt healthy, my only exercise was being a full-time mom. I looked great, had a firm body.

Starting 3/03, I started losing weight, unintentionally. Today I weigh 119. My mother's father has been going through this 9 months longer than me, and now my 25 year old son is starting to, so obviously this runs on my mother's side. I AM NOT ANOREXIC OR BULEMIC!!!!!! I love food. I am taking in at least 4000 calories per day. Every test, all the doctors can think of has been done, with no answers. (YES, I'VE BEEN TESTED FOR CANCER) I tire very easily, so I can no longer do some of the things I love to do (I've tried, not just gave up). In the winter, I get cold, colder than most. I had a Hysterectomy in 1995, and until 3/03 RARELY needed to wear a coat. In summer, I tire even more so.

Has anyone else gone through this? There are too many tests that have been done to list here.

    HELP!!!!!!!

  • Online shopping for weddings?

I use to be a wedding planner. Online is useful for many things. Why on earth would anyone consider buying a wedding gown, jewelery, flowers, etc., online? Especially the gown!!!

If you can't touch it, you don't know if you like the feel. If you can't actually see it, you don't know if it's the exact color you want. If you can't try it on, you won't know if it suits your body, something VERY IMPORTANT. And, you end up paying for alterations that most stores will do for free if you purchase from them.

The same with linens, flowers. Unless you can see and feel them, you won't know if they are just right, or if they match.

The same applies for everything else. I've had many couples disappointed with online purchases for weddings.

Online is great for ideas, but when it comes to the real thing, you should go with a vendor in your area so you can deal with them in person in case of a problem, such as receiving your items on time, and in time to make changes.

    Any thoughts?
