  • Why is the return line plugged off on an 83 F250?

Okay I'm really confused. I've got a 1983 Ford F250 with a 460 engine. There is a return line that runs back to the sending unit and it's plugged off before it gets to the sending unit. That appears to be something that a previous owner did. Well after taking the sending unit out it is also plugged inside the tank which appears to be from the factory. All the aftermarket suppliers of sending units have one outlet where mine has two, but why did Ford run a return line all the way back along the frame just to block it off? I think i can just remove the line and plug it off under the hood where it starts. I would just like someone to give me some insight on this. Thanks

  • 1983 F250 will not start?

Ok I've looked over this truck 100 times looking for something, but can't find anything that looks out of place. This truck will crank, but will not fire. It has spark. It ran a couple months ago and even then it wouldn't start all the time. I couldn't hear the fuel pump when I turned the ingnition so I replaced that and wired it to the ignition contact on the starter relay on the fender. Still nothing. I've looked at the fuses and replaced them all even if they looked good hoping something would happen. I'm stumped. Could the problem be the coil or ignition module? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Does anyone know the paint code for Maroon on a 1979 F150?

Ok this may be a shot in the dark, but I'm looking for someone out there who can tell me the paint code for the Maroon that Ford used in 1979. The truck is orange right now but some of it is peeling off and the original color was Maroon. Now my next question is, is this truck worth restoring to make profit on?

  • Why won't my 83 F250 stay running?

My F250 has a 460 in it and will not stay running. A friend of mine and I have been working on it for a few hours and we had it running, but it would die if you took your foot off the gas. We were trying to time it, but it just wouldn't cooperate with us. It would backfire through the carb which would mean that it is out of time. I was also thinking that the plug wires were crossed as well. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
