I can't get a hold of the pediatrician on call and when I tried to call the ER, i was told they couldn't give me any info over the phone and that I should research online.......... so my question is: What has your experience been with a sick newborn? Her temp is currently 100.2 which is up from 3 hours ago and she has a cough. I know that a temp of 100.4 in a baby under 3 months warrants a visit to her doctor but does it warrant a trip to the ER?

My sister just got a letter from the IRS stating that she owes $2,000 from her taxes done last year. They said it was from her not including her estranged/deceased husbands info. The tax preparer had her as single head of household since her and her husband were legally separated in April 2008. He committed suicide on June 30th. No one filed his taxes for the year 2008. Is my sister responsible for this and should she have been filed single head of household?

For the parents who arent finding out the baby's sex till he/she is born: How do you keep from getting a lot of neutral baby items? My MIL is intent on throwing me a baby shower before the baby arrives even though my husband and I have asked her not too because we dont want tons of yellow and green baby things. Would be horrible to ask for no baby clothes for a baby shower?

We have an extended warranty on our car; however, my husband did the oil changes himself on it even though I advised against it because of the warranty. Now, after only 10 months of owning it, its needs a new motor. I am pretty sure that they said a cylinder lost compression and caused other issues. Customer Service at the warranty place is saying they have to have maintenance records in order to cover the cost of the motor. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with this. Is the issue with the motor related in anyway to oil changes? or does it not matter because my husband did the oil changes himself and it voids the warranty? Any advise would be great. If they don't cover it, we will just have an expensive lawn ornament until we can afford to pay the car off. That sucks but nothing we can about that now and I know my husband is really hard on himself right now because he could have kept this from happening by getting the oil changed somewhere else like i told him too.

We have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. It has been running fine then all of a sudden: it started shaking and running really rough and the check engine light came on. It also has an almost burning like smell when we drove it home but my husband said all the belts are in one piece. Since Chrysler closed in town the only place that accepts our warranty is out of town, which the car will never make it too. A friend of ours said it might be the coil packs. How do we know if our car has coil packs? and does this sound like it might be the coil packs?

As you can tell, our knowledge on cars is very limited and I know you cant diagnose the problem without seeing car but we are willing to try a few things before we have to pay for it to get towed to Palmdale.

I have windows vista and I am trying to find the temp internet file folder. Does anyone know where this is located?

We just got a letter from the IRS saying that we owe $885 from our 2007 taxes. My husband helped a friend out and worked with him for a couple weeks. He never sent us a W2 and we forgot about the work he did so we didn't claim it on our taxes for 2007. We cant afford to pay this in full and right now we cant make any payment arrangements as my husband has just started unemployment benefits due to lack of work in our area. I was wondering if someone might know what our penalties would be if we waited to have the money taken out of our tax return next year. Would they take out a federal tax lien against us before then? Thank you for any advice in regards to this.

We have a 2003 pontiac grand prix. Our puppy threw up in the front seat but after getting it cleaned 2x, we are unable to get the smell out. We are trying to purchase a new seat for the car but know where to start. I found one set of front seats on ebay for a 2000 pontiac grand prix that looks exactly like the seats in our car. Do you know if those would fit? Where are places we go to look for front seats? Thank you for any help.

Our puppy was diagnosed with Parvo and will be receiving her last treatment tomorrow. We were very lucky that she had a mild form of it and responded well to the treatment. She was in the midst of getting her puppy shots when she somehow came into contact with the disease. We know that we have to wait a month before her next vaccination (even though she can't get parvo again, we still have to vaccinate her against distemper which is really bad where we live). My question is: do you know how long we need to wait before we can take her for walks or have her around other dogs without her giving them the disease?

I work part time in California. Employees were I work are scheduled for 5.5 hour shifts. We are not given the opportunity to take a break, whether paid or unpaid. I looked up CA labor laws but I think it was for full time employees. It said that if a break is not given, the employeer must pay for an extra hour of work. Does anyone know what the laws are in CA for part time employees in reference to breaks?

I just got a BFP this morning at 10DPO!!! I am so excited but also very nervous. This will be our 4th and last child as I will be getting my tubes tied when this baby is born. I have mixed feelings about getting my tubes tied. I know its the right decision but its hard to know that I will never see a positive pregnancy test again, that this will be my last time carrying a baby. Are there any moms out there that felt the same way as I do? How did you feel after you got your tubes tied?

Has anyone TTC gotten a BFP that was correct 8 DPO? Tomorrow, I will be 8 DPO but its still 6 days before AF pays a visit. I am so excited to test but dont want to waste any of the tests if there is NO chance I will get a BFP. I know it is very rare to get a positive pregnancy test so soon before my perios starts, I just wanted to see if anyone had gotten one that soon.

I swore I wouldnt ask another baby name question on here but now my husband and I are trying for baby #4. We are thinking about:

Girl: Vivian Sue (Sue is a family middle name so its sticking)

Boy: Ethan or Evan Wade (Again, middle name is stuck)

What so you think of those names? We have nicknames for all our kids, what would be cute nicknames for those names.

Our other kids names are: Hayley, Caden, Tyler

My husband and I are trying for our fourth child. We were thinking about putting an ad in the newspapers where our families live telling them of the pregnancy when we are about 3 months along. We want a poem that leads up to saying we are pregnany with our fourth child and would like to include Hayley 12, Caden 3, and Tyler 1. Does anyone have some ideas for a poem.. or know of any websites to give us a start?

we just changed the alternator in our car but yesterday, after running really good, the car didnt start. My husband got a jump but on his way to the auto part shop, the car stalled when we took his foot off the gas. We took the battery to get tested and they said its bad. Would a bad battery cause the car to stall when driving?

My husband and I are considering buying a home and trying to make it so that our mortgage is about what we pay for rent which is $800/month. We are looking into programs to help with the down payment since we are considered low income with our family size, we live in California I know that many programs like CalHFA have suspended their down payment assistance.. so do you know of any other programs that may help us. We will make an appointment with a Realtor soon but wanted to know what we are getting into before we do so. Also, if anyone bought a 150,000 house: about what was your out of pocket expenses and what is your monthly payment? We have a credit score between 720-760.

My husband is not my 3 year old sons biological father; however, he has been in our lives since Caden was 5 months old and is in every since of the word, except legally, Cadens daddy. We are the process of my husband adopting him. His biological father was an abuser, both phyiscal and mentally and was addicted to coke. The last time I talked to him was 3 years ago when my son was about 8 months old.. that was until today when he called out the blue. He seems to be doing well but I know he is a good liar and can make anyone believe anything he is saying. He also never asked about Caden specifically just asked about my kids in general.. I dont even think he knows Caden's name (BTY: he isnt on Cadens birth cert) Is it fair to my son to keep his biological father out of the picture since all he has ever known is my husband? If my husband does adobt him, do you think it would unfair of us to not tell him that my husband adopted him?

I aksed a question today about the illegal antics of collection companies and got great answers! Now i have another question. Do judges usually order judgements if you are making payments and trying to clear up the debt? If the judgement is ordered, what happens from there?

I had a membership to a gym which after a few months I could not afford to pay. We intended on paying this when we got our taxes back next month. I just got a call from a collections agency who threatened to take our cars which are financed (older cars). They will not take payments on this debt. Can they take the cars? I filed complaints with the FTC and DA's office. I know I owe this money and intend on paying it but what are my rights in re: the collection company and what happens if they get a judgement or take me to court before I am able to pay it.
