Excel tabs - how to sort them into alphabetical order (or any other order)?
I want to sort the tabs, not the contents of the worksheets.
1 AnswerSoftware4 years agoExcel - formula to round down if the number I'm rounding is odd, but just plain round if the number is even?
So let's say I'm rounding whatever is in cell A1. If the number in that cell is $255.09, I'd want to round down to $255.00 (so I'd normally use "rounddown"). But if the number in A1 is $255.08, then I want to round to $256.00 (so I'd normally use "round"). Is there a formula to tell Excel which round function to use depending on whether the content of A1 is even or odd? Does "ISEVEN" have anything to do with this?
2 AnswersSoftware4 years agoHow can I shrink the print size in Chrome?
I can do it in the print preview screen in Internet Explorer, but I can't find that option in Chrome. What I'm trying to do is shrink what could be a 2-page printout to one page (or however many pages to fewer pages).
2 AnswersPrinters5 years agoMicrosoft Excel 2013 - zoom/magnification - how to make it my default size?
I have a large Excel file with small font. Every time I open it, I need to click on "Zoom" and then increase my magnification size so that I can read its contents. Saving the file does not save the magnification. Is there a way to save the magnification, or even to set a particular magnification size as my default for all new files?
2 AnswersSoftware5 years agoHow do I change the password to log onto my laptop computer, when I was required to link the admin password to my Microsoft e-mail account?
I was required (by the laptop) to use my Microsoft e-mail account and its password as the administrator password for my laptop computer. In order to use my computer, the login screen displays my Microsoft e-mail address, and I have to type in the password for that e-mail account.
I want to change the password I use to log onto the computer. Do I need to change my e-mail password (from within the e-mail account), and then the new password automatically transfers to the computer? If not, how do I change the password to log onto my computer?
Thank you.

I want only accounts with non-zero balances (as of the date of the trial balance) to show.
1 AnswerSoftware5 years agoExcel: Sumif function apparently doesn't sum multiple rows and columns - is there a function that will?
I tried the following sumif function to sum the info in cells A1-G30 if the cells in H1-H30 contain the word Blue: =sumif(H1:H30,"Blue",A1:G30). It didn't work. It added numbers from only one of the columns. Is there a different function that will accomplish what I was trying to do?
3 AnswersSoftware5 years agoCan someone please explain the Excel formulas that are used to insert the filename, and filename & worksheet, in a cell?
To insert filename only: =MID(CELL("filename"),SEARCH("[",CELL("filename"))+1, SEARCH("]",CELL("filename"))-SEARCH("[",CELL("filename"))-1)
To insert filename and worksheet: =RIGHT(CELL("filename"),LEN(CELL("filename"))- MAX(IF(NOT(ISERR(SEARCH("\",CELL("filename"), ROW(1:255)))),SEARCH("\",CELL("filename"),ROW(1:255)))))
I'd like to be able to type the formulas instead of searching for them every time I need them, therefore I want to understand each part of the above formulas.
2 AnswersSoftware6 years agoHow can I save my internet favorites list and their associated web addresses to an Excel file?
I have Internet Explorer 11
1 AnswerOther - Internet6 years agoI know how to print my favorites list, but how do I make the font small enough for the entire web address to show?
I used the following steps to print my favorites list and their web addresses:
click on File,
click import and export,
click export to a file,
click next,
click favorites,
click next,
click again next,
click export,
favorites.htm
file will be created in my documents folder.
open the file ,
click file tab,
click print.
in print window,
under options,
click "print table of links"
under general tab,click print
But the font is too big, and part of the web address gets cut off (even if I print in landscape). How can I make the font smaller before printing? Or, how can I save it to an Excel file?
1 AnswerOther - Internet6 years agoMicrosoft Outlook - one of the mail folders I created disappeared, but it seems to still exist - how do I figure out where it went?
I accidentally clicked on one of the folders I created and moved it upward while still clicked. This caused it to disappear from my list of folders.
If I do a search of "All Mail Items," that folder's contents come up in the search results, and are listed as still being in that folder.
How do I figure out where the folder went? (It's not in the folder that was above it.)
2 AnswersSoftware6 years agoExcel - can someone explain this formula, which puts the sheet name in the cell: =MID(CELL("filename"),FIND("]",CELL("filename"))+1,255)?
It looks like a combination of formulas. I'm looking for the explanation of each part of the formula (so that I can recreate it myself without searching through my Excel reference guide every time I need to use it in a spreadsheet).
Also looking for an explanation for the formula that puts the filename and worksheet in the cell.
1 AnswerSoftware6 years agoHow to format an entire column in Excel 2007 to show the numbers with the exact amount of decimal places that I entered - no more, no less?
I have a column of numbers. Some are whole numbers (for which I want no decimals to show). Others have one to three decimal places (ex: 100.0, 100.1, 100.10, 100.100). How can I format the entire column to show these numbers as I typed them in this question, and not eliminate any ending 0s, and not add any ending 0s (and without having to format each cell individually)?
1 AnswerSoftware6 years agoLooking for the name of a Christmas rock song, probably from the '80s (maybe '70s), and the name of the band that sang it.?
Might have been "Gloria," but I'm not sure. ("Glorrrrrr ee uhhhhhh....")
2 AnswersOther - Music6 years agoExcel 2007 - "Merge & Center" button on ribbon - how to change the default to the "Merge Cells" option instead of "Merge & Center"?
When clicking the drop-down arrow next to "Merge & Center," the options that come up are "Merge & Center," "Merge Across," "Merge Cells" and "Unmerge Cells."
I don't want to automatically center when I press the merge button.
1 AnswerSoftware7 years agoExcel 2007 - how can I merge the contents of a large number of cells into a single cell...?
...and separate the contents from the original cells by commas?
I have about 100 e-mail addresses in an Excel spreadsheet (all of the e-mail addresses are in the same column). I need to enter all of the e-mail addresses into a website, with each e-mail address separated by a comma. I'd like to copy the contents of only one cell from the Excel file and paste it into the website, instead of copying and pasting the contents of each individual cell. How can I do this?
2 AnswersSoftware7 years agoAdobe Reader X - why are PORTIONS of SOME printed pages blacked out, & only on MY computer & printer (but image on screen isn't blacked out)?
Let's say the image in the PDF is a U.S. federal income tax return with many pages. On the screen, the form looks normal (nothing is blacked out). But when I print, portions of some of the printed pages will be completely blacked out, like maybe 10 out of 30 of the lines where you'd enter your dollar amounts, or the line numbers to the left of the dollar amounts. Not all pages print out like this, and the printed pages aren't blacked out if I use a different computer and printer.
Do I need to change a setting on my computer (either within Adobe, or in printer setup, or somewhere else)? What setting do I need to change?
2 AnswersSoftware7 years agoMicrosoft word 2007 - how to put footer on all but last page?
I'm creating a document on which the recipient needs to initial the bottom of every page except the last one ("initial here ______").
I want to enter the initial line as a footer, so that I won't need to mess with the layout page by page. I do not want the initial line on the last page because that page will have a full signature line.
How can I do this?
