I live in UK and I'm planning to apply for mortgage in UK where I'm planning to borrow around 12k pounds from my brother who is living in US.

So the question is,

Is there any tax around the money i get from him ( from US dollars to UK pounds)?

If yes, How much is the tax?

I'm planning to repay the amount monthly/quarterly in dollars?

Is there a best way I can transfer the money back?

I m on a third party insurance.

I had an accident where the other other party hit me from behind. I reported to our insurance company.Gave them all the details ( 1 hour) Since it is a third party insurance they forwarded me to 'Help Hire' again I gave them the same details ( 45 mins). Then after 2 days I gave them a call they said someone will contact as they dont have staff during christmas time. Later again I gave them a call they said they rejected it and sent back to my insurance. But my insurance guy told me tat they are dealing with it? I m struck now?
