I know engines are going to be different, so lets just say a basic 4 cylinder from any economy car. I have tried to use search engine for this question, I must not be typing it in the correct way. I am not talking about the horsepower or pound feet of torque the engine makes, rather how much force (in pounds -lbs-) is throwing that single piston down from the explosion in one cylinder. I hope this makes sense and thank you for your help.

I know that the old XP can only handle up to 130GB, so I have installed the Service pack 2, and I went into my disk manager, it shows the rest of my hard drive. I started the New Partition Wizard and it gives me the option to make a Primary Partition( I understand this) or an extended partition(I don't get this).Here is how it is explainted in the Wizard:

An extended partition is a portion of a Master Boot Record(MBR) basic disk that can contain logical drives. Use an extended partition if you want to have more than four volumes on your MBR basic disk.

Well, that is nothing I have heard of before, I want to make the rest of my hard drive space available under the "C" drive, where the 130GB is now, can I now make it 500 like it should be or am I stuck since I loaded the old XP with no service pack and updated. Do I just have to stick with two separate folders for my hard drive, I guess that is okay but I want to merge the rest of the space in. Thanks

Kind of a "what came first? the chicken or the egg" question, but since it takes a computer to program computer, how did they program the first computer? I am sure it was baby steps and kind of complicated, but maybe someone has a short answer.

I live in Port Clinton, OH. My DSL service provider is a local company (they are just a middle man, Its Verizon, they had a good deal with an IP Phone long story) Anyhow, I have a step up from the basic service as far as bandwidth. I use Verizon Internet speed test, it shows me at roughly 1400.0 Kbits/ 180.0 Kbytes. It is good and works fine. BUT! I have a buddy that lives in Bellevue, OH... He is not real computer savvy but just got a new computer and went to local place for their internet deal/phone service/cable. Keep in mind he has DSL not cable. He says he just has the basic service. I did a Verizon speed test and OMG! he was almost OFF The chart! 9500.0 +Kbits / 2500.0+ Kbytes. WTF? can anyone explain why? Why is his basic service have such massive gobs of bandwidth? He lives basically in a residential area just like I do, his town is much bigger though. Any thoughts / Ideas? I am jealous to say the least.

Why FORD? Why did you paste the good Taurus name on the NON-SELLING Ford 500? Have anyone seen the, pains me to say, "new" Taurus? Man all it is, is the Ford 500 renamed. Ohio/Local Government. In my line of work there is one promotion to be made, at least at the place I am at. It is a good promotion and brings with it more money and more freedom. So there are 3 of us guys that are in the lower position, any of us honestly would be just fine for the promotion. Even most of the guys who have made the promotion think that way of the 3 of us. But, we are all good at what we do and the management does not want to have to spend money to fill our position, so they go outside to hire for the opening. It saves them money. They have always hired from within but the last two times it has been from outside because it saves money. Now I see this rut and want to get a job at a different place BUT I run into the same problem... They give me a bad reference because they don't want to spend money to fill my place!! I would almost have to commit a major felony to get fired, but then no one would hire then either. What to do Join the Military?
