  • Outlook Express repeatedly sending emails?

The problem: This laptop computer, running Windows XP Pro with SP3 is suddenly having a problem sending emails. They get stuck in the outbox and constantly send, but never leave the outbox. Have done a virus scan and malware scan, done a disk cleanup, but the problem remains.

    Any solutions out there?

  • power issues?

I have just bought a new case for my computer, I changed all the hardware very carefully to the new case from the old one, even bought a new PSU. The problem is, when I plug the power into my storage drive, the system won;t power up. If I unplug it, the system powers up just fine.

    The system specs are ...

    Intel Core2Duo 1.8

    1GB DDR2

    80Gb hard drive (C. drive)[Seagate SATA]

250GB Hard Drive (storage drive)[Seagate SATA]

    600W PSU

    2 x DVD writers

The power connector plugs on the PSU are enough to plug into each device .... [1 plug to each burner, one to each HDD 1 each to the front and rear case fans]

I have never encountered such a problem before. It all worked just fine in the old case... why not now?

  • How to delete a file that seems to be real but won't delete even from safe mode?

I have seen some strange things in my time dealing with computers, but this is new to me. I have a computer that has what seems to be a jpg image file, but it cannot be opened with any program, nor can it be deleted, even from safe mode. Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of it? (without reformatting the hard drive)

  • installing windows 98 on a sata drive?

I unfortunately need to install windows 98 on a new 80gb sata drive due to outdated (and very expensive) software that won't run on any O/S above win89. I was trying for a dual boot win98/Win XP Pro ... the problem is that windows 98 installs, but when complete it won't boot into normal windows, only safe mode and no CD Rom detected... any ideas? When it does try to lod windows normally, it freezes. The new hard drive is good as it installs and runs win XP just fine.
