I am a personal life coach, specializing in optimizing performance in the corporate world. On Yahoo Answers l really see some interesting dilemas and great questions. I am finding it helps me, personally, to help others see their own inate wisdom, and trust it. We al have the potential to become our best when faced with situations that seem impossible...it is actually an opportuntity to change our patterns and ways of seeing things and evolve to a higher level of being. The life we then experience is in the moment, and it is here that we can find joy and peace.

  • I have just been given a HP m8125x Hard drive with no cords monitor or anything else, what to do?

This has Vista Home Premium Edition on it, so it will perfect for storage, but I am not sure what else I need to get it running. It is just a big beautiful hard drive with recovery discs, and the plug for electricity, but no Monitor no other cords. I am baffled by what I am supposed to do in order to get it running. A monitor, yes of course but does it have to be a specific monitor?

  • My dog is not feeling well and bit me on the nose really hard, what is going on?

I have a little Pom-Terrier (or should I say Terror), who is over eleven years old and not having a good day. It might be arthritis or maybe he cracked a tooth on a hard cookie (he has lost a tooth before and I have been soaking his cookies but he also has little carrots so?) Anyway, he was miserable and not eating or drinking but laying under a favorite dark spot until I gave him a children's aspirin at noon and he took some milk and a small amount of milk and salmon mixture. Then he went under my bed and I couldn;t get him to come out for four hours. He finally came out slowly and I made the mistake of picking him up with soothing words and bringing him up to my face. He grabbed my nose in his mouth and bit down and twisted!!!! I let go as he was still freaking out. After icing my face, I left him alone for another hour and spoke to him soothingly trying to get him out so I could give him another asprin and take him out for a pee. He finally came out on his own, went outside with and peed and then I accidentally gave him my headache med instead of the children's tylenol!!! He consumed a good half of an ultra strength headache relief pill acedomicin and caffine (!!!) (do I feel stupid!) and he is now in another hiding space.

    1. Please give me insight into this biting.

    2. He is perky now and feeling no pain.

    3. he is probably only 20 lbs, is he going to be okay or should I watch for something?

  • What is the one gift you hope you don't get this year?

A few years ago I was given this really neat gidgety gadget that is still in the package and being given by a special person they keep asking me why I am not using it! Maybe you have a relative that keeps giving you candy that triggers your migraine or something fattening when you are on a diet. Do tell!

  • How do I freeze peaches?

Last year I froze peaches by dunking them in scalding water then putting them separately in ziplock freezer bags...they were only good for a month or two. I want to freeze them uncooked, without sugar and sliced. Any tips?

  • Did anyone else find Carley & Bo's bedroom scene icky?

Bo seriously sandpapered poor Carley's face, and she looked horrendous...why on earth didn't they cut and fix the horrible red rash that she had on her face? Then, I am sorry but Bo's expression when he was on the bed was terrible...we want romance here...and lots of candles so we don't have to notice the old bodies! I just found the entire scene set up was awful, and just too many nasty shots of a really gritty icky scene I ended up fast-forwarding over. I think a man must have planned this because if a woman did, they would have had him hesitating as he had flashbacks of Hope, and lots of candles and nice soft music and for heavens sake, Boo-boo would be shaved!

  • Why were "soaps" called "soap operas"?

I don't know why this question popped into my head, but I really need to know! It is kind of a funny name for shows such as "Days of our Life" and 'The Young and the Restless" and I was wondering if anyone knows where it came from and when and who coined it? Thanks!

  • How to make a Sourdough Starter from scratch?

It is interesting how some of the best Sourdough bread is found at small family run bakeries who have a starter/yeast that has been kept in the families for generations. I would love to start my own. I found a "starter" in an old cookbook that calls for cornflour. I don't have cornflour, and I don't want to go out and get some (since it is freezing and lots of snow). In addition, this one recipe recommends throwing it out after two weeks, which is not the same as the sourdough version.

Can anyone tell me how to make a sourdough starter that lasts beyond two weeks.

thought - Would alcohol help to keep it longer without the bacteria issue? If so can I use wine (which I have) or amaretto or brandy (hee-hee in liquors I will have to break them open) rather than beer (which I don't have and don't like).

    Thanks for your help.

  • Any advice about putting booties on my Dramatic Little Dog?

He quivers and shakes, even though I am so gentle with him. It is impossible to lift his back legs, cut his nails or put on boots. Since it feels like -20 outside, he has already felt the advantage of these little boots and showed them off to his big doggy friend next door. But, yesterday he got all upset and only wanted them on his front feet. Today is colder so I started by trying to clip his nails, and it was impossible. Then when he was all excited about going out, he got all upset over the front boots, quivering with his ears back, when I went to put them on his back legs I coaxed him to put one on, even when he growled, but when I tried on the otherside he got super vicious and went for me and sunk his teeth into my hand. I pushed him down by putting my hand on the middle of his back but that was all I could do because my hand was bleeding. Needless to say, I told him he was a bad dog and we went on our walk. He was really remorseful when we came in, and stayed near the door and under the table. Normally he is jumping all over the place and happy. Any advice on dealing with him? I think that he might have sore back legs but that is just speculation, he has never liked his back legs touched and doing his nails has always been a problem.

  • How much will it cost taxpayers to support this "Prorogue" extended holiday that Harper has created?

Instead of our Parliament earning it's keep, they all get a full benefit paid holiday extending until March 3, the "brain child" (and I use the term lightly) of Harper. Within this time, he will fill the five Senate vacancies with his favourites, a million dollar a year gift ( salary plus a basically non-watched expense account that is used for living in high style at the taxpayer expense) that will guarantee that his every bill passes without speed and no question. Apparently, the Tories think they have done a good job, so they have made up a new rule to reward themselves with more time off. So I am wondering what you think of this, and if you can guess-ta-mate how much it will cost taxpayers who also have had to accept the increase in tax (hst) that will be put into place in 2010?
