What is the statistical or Philosophical terms for "can't have one without the other"?
What is the Statistical and/or Philosophical terms for
"Can't have one without the other"?
Example: If you want water it's not possible without H and 0. Or: "this is my wife; she is funny" In other words a part of her very soul is being funny, take the funny and she wouldn't be who she is.
It's related to mutually exclusive, but more like: Mutually Can't Have One Without The Other
2 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoSetup of Intranet that is independent of the Internet/WWW?
Colleagues and I are considering setting up an Intranet that is independent of the global WWW / Internet. There's so much scam, spam and hacking on the net, we'd prefer to start our own network.
Is it possible, or must even all Intranets be hooked up to the web?
Could we set it up so that new members could join via the web, but once they click our LOGIN button, they'd be on our private network and not the typical WWW / Internet?
2 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoSeeking to create an online form that then puts info into database?
Anyone that could answer one or all of the objectives below, please do so:
1. I seek to create an online form that users fill in. The data (text, audio and graphics) are then put into a database, that I can then sort by: Name, Age, Talent, Location, etc.
2. Would like the user to get a "thanks for responding" auto reply based on two of the categories they choose (Talent, Location).
3. Also It would be great if, as I sort the data, the files that the users uploaded are clickable so that I can hear or see the file in a separate pop up window while the database remains open in the background.
4. If their names and email addresses could automatically go into an email database (into separate sections of the database, example: Dancer, pop singer, model) that would be great also.
2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoLink that takes surfers first to my page then to final destination (web design)?
I have several cars for sale. But I want to sell the cars on a popular car website.
So when people use a search engine, and my cars come up, when the user clicks I first want them to go to my webpage (for a split second, hopefully not even seeing my webpage) then I want them to ultimately end up at the popular car sales website.
Why: Because once my ads on the popular car sales website end, I want the same search engines to refer users (when they click) to the next car sales website that I advertise on.
SUMMARY
User types in Altavista.com "Buy his cars".
2. They click on the link and seem to go straight to Car Sales Site 1 (But they actually briefly go to my own website first).
3) The following month I advertise on another Car Sales Website 2.
4) But the same original search engine string should work, but this time take people to the New Car Sales website.
I do have a concern though, could this negatively impact my search engine ranking, webcrawlers, etc? I would hate for this strategy to lead to my loosing potential search engine ranking, etc.
Thanks and I hope I was clear enough above, those of you that know this stuff better than I could probably summarize it, using the appropriate Acronyms, computer lingo, in 3 sentences. Thanks again.

3 AnswersCamcorders1 decade agoNew York Hospital Records: How can patient request, what can I request, what rights do I have?
Why do NY hospitals make it so difficult for patients to get patient's own records? Is there a way to get a summary after each doctors visit? How long does a hospital have to legally keep patients records before they are destroyed or stored forever with no access by patient?
A hospital tried to charge me over $400 for my own patient records. Is this legal? They are charging .75 cents per copy. Also, when I request patient records how long do I have to wait before the hospital must provide the records? Thanks.

4 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhat is a debt instrument?
I found the description listed below, but I'm still unclear what a debt instrument is. Could someone please put it in plain English, and give a sound example? According to the description below, a bank could take the debt owed to them (for example if they lend Joe Blow $1000) and sell that debt to some other company in the short term? Not sure if I get it. Thanks.
---
obligation that describes a debt that is assumed by the issuer of the document. Essentially, the debt instrument commits the issuer to reimburse the debt according to terms agreed upon between the buyer and the seller. Some examples of debt instruments include corporate and municipal bonds, Commercial Papers, Treasury Bills, and Certificates of Deposit. One of the benefits of the debt instrument is that the document makes it possible to effectively transfer the ownership of debt. It is common for creditors to trade debt obligations as a means of generating revenue and keeping liquidity at a higher rate. The end result is that it is possible for lenders to make use of the funds collected from investors while still protecting those investments and be in a position to make interest payments as well as eventually repay the principle of the debt as well.

5 AnswersCorporations1 decade agoLive versus Reason Versus ProTools Versus Soundbooth? Music Production?
I am a producer that will master 1 program then others. I want a program that I can start with my basic ideas (melody, beat) and then add slowed down CD samples (that I own copyright to, my old songs), then mix the final product and add vocals if necessary. Also want to have ability to sync instruments via MIDI, and if possible, easily transport the finished song for video editing. If some live stage synchronization (lights, midi equipment, etc) is available that would be a plus.
Right now I'm looking at LIVE, ProTools, Audition, Soundbooth and Reason. Please let me know which one I should start with. Thanks for your time master.
