I've already written more than 60,000 words of my fantasy novel but now I want have someone read it read it, and I'm wondering if the main character's name is too strange. Her name is Emery. (read as EM-ree).

English isn't my main language, but I wanted to write my story in English to challenge myself. I knew the name meant something like sandpaper, but I thought it was an uncommon meaning and that it suited the character. Now I'm not so sure.

I've grown attatched to the name so I don't want to completely replace it. If you do think I should change it, maybe some alternate spellings would work?

In a story I'm writing a guy who is really into photography wants to talk to his friend about his camera. She doesn't know anything about cameras beyond the basics. The thing is, I don't either and I don't want to write something stupid.

It needs to sound complicated so that she doesn't understand what he's saying (the joke is she said she was into photography as well), but at the same time something that's not gibberish, so that someone who actually knows this stuff doesn't think I made it all up. I just need 5-6 lines.

Example: This is my new camera. It's a blah blah model blah blah. It has x and y and it can do z. I bought this model because the blah blah is really good. etcetera

I'm writing a story that will take place in about a week's time. I want the main character to fall for a guy and him for her. He has only talked to her a few times before the story starts. At the beginning she doesn't like him much and he is unfriendly, even mean towards her. He will keep being that way but by interacting with him more, she will learn to trust his actions rather than his words.They will see each other almost every day, she will even save his life once.

Even in the end he won't admit he loves her, he's not the type to express feelings so easily, but they have to like each other enough for him not to move like he had planned?

So is one week enough time for that to happen?

If one week is to short, how long would you recommend in order to make the story more believable?

My laptop works well most of the time but when I try to play some games it lags. It's happened with games like sims 3, unreal tournament 3, mass effect etc. It works fine for a few minutes (depending on the game) and then it starts lagging for 30 sec, then it's fine again. I don't get why, I have the system requirements for the games... I've tried increasing the virtual memory and reinstalling drivers but there's no difference.

I have an intel core 2 duo processor 2.53GHz, 4GB ram, nvidia geforce 9600M GS 512Mb video card.

Im curious. Do guys talk to their friends about what they do with their gf... in bed? I do but only with my bf. We are very close and i'd never tell anyone else. Do boys brag? Or maybe say what the girl does or should be doing?

Hi i'm 18 and I have a little problem, I'm 1,63 (thats 5.4 ft) and i weigh 55 kg (122 lbs). 88-65-94, my friends tell me i look normal but i don't feel that way. my boyfriend is a gemini. and i have had some problems with him. i love him very much (he is my first love) but sometimes he makes my life hell. doesn't call me but when i don't call he gets mad. he's sooo moody, one moment he tells me it's not working any more, the next he says it's a joke and he kisses me. he likes to make stupid jokes (make up stories about cheating on me just for fun). my father was a gemini and my parents divorced. i know gemini are great as friends but bad as boyfriends. girls, have u had a gemini boyfriend? how do i handle him?
