  • Order of exercises in chest workout?

I've heard compound before isolating movements, bench first, dips last, pullovers first, pullovers last, dips first. It's all very confusing. When I do dips first, I feel my shoulders are too tired for bench, but when I do dips last I feel my shoulders are already giving up.

What order should I put these exercises? From first to last?

Dips, Bench Press, Chest Pullover, Incline Press

  • Get hair to feel like it does days after you shower?

Guy. Short hair. My hair always feels better a few days after I shower it, so how can I get that look right after my shower? Should I use a better conditioner, if so, which one?

I can't always leave my hair without shower, since I'm doing sports almost every day, my hair gets super sweaty and I just have to wash it afterwards, but then right after and even the next day it feels somewhat dry and not pliable, so I have to use some sort of wax or paste, but I hate putting **** on my hair.

So, how can I get my hair to feel like it does days after I shower?

  • How long for chest muscle to look how it does after a workout?

After working out certain muscles, (chest and biceps for example), you get that after workout 'pumped' up look where the muscle is bigger for a few hours, goes back to normal the next day, and it starts healing/growing.

My question is how long does it take for your chest muscle, or any muscle for that matter, to grow to the size it is after a particular workout. (i.e. if on January 1st, your chest measures 42 inches around before your workout, and after a workout it measures 44 inches around, approx how long would it take, training as you usually do, to get it to 44 inches?)

(I'm 20, male, no steroids, just whey protein after my workout)

  • Get pool/beach hair look without going there?

I'm a guy, I have fairly short hair, sort of like:

    http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6nfknn64G1qajc4...

My hair is always best right after I get out of the ocean or the pool when it dries up. It has a natural looking hold, and looks and feels great. However, I don't have access to a beach every morning, and I don't feel like washing my hair with store-bought chlorine every morning either.

How do I make my hair feel like that? I've heard some sprays help or some pastes, but I've wasted money on products that have advertised that look. I own all the american crew products, plus some other pastes and waxes as well, but maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Also, maybe it's the shampoo, I don't know. Do you guys recommend any?

    Thanks so much!

  • How to cut men's hair to stay up in front with no product? (pic included)?

I've always had to use a wax or pomade on my thick hair to get the front of it to stay up. To me, it was fine. But, I went to a barbershop in Brazil and the guy cut it in a way that the front would stay up by itself. It wasn't too short or too long, the sides he used a 2, and the top he cut with scissors.

But the front would stay up. I let it grow for a bit, but when I cut it here in America, the stylist cut it like always. The front would stay down, and I have to use a wax or paste to get it up. This is fine, but the other way makes it so it doesn't come down as often even if I use the pomade.

What can I tell my stylist to do, or what can I do at home (without screwing up my hair) to get this to work, without having to fly to Brazil every month to get that cut.

Only image I could find. (Top was shorter, but you get the idea for the front)

  • Why do I have to apply sunscreen 15 (or more) minutes before going into the sun?

Why do I have to apply sunscreen 15 (or more) minutes before going into the sun?

I have always applied sunscreen/ tanning lotion while at the beach or while suntanning, never 15 or 30 minutes before like the back of the bottle says.

Does this matter? Will I get a better tan? Or is it just to protect from the UVA/UVB rays?

  • How many hours safe to train per day?

I'm training for my black belt test in Karate, which requires a lot of cardio/stamina. I have been recently training roughly 2-3 hours once every other day. Is this safe? Can I push it up to 4-6 hours? I say this because it's not that I'm tired, because I can go for long hours if I wanted, but I have been cutting it off because I fear it is not good for my body.

The things I do include kicking pads, doing roughly 1,000+ kicks (which is required for my test).

    Please let me know! Thanks!

  • Conditioning my legs for 1,000 kicks?

I have two months (roughly) to train for my Black Belt test in Karate. It is three hours longs, and for the second hour I have to do 1,000 kicks. (50 left/right round, " " hook, " " crescent, etc.)

How can I condition my legs so that I may throw that many kicks, but also make them powerful? Like maybe list some exercises, or a workout plan. (My dojo has kicking bags)

    Thanks!

  • Does the mirror confuse you?

I heard that once you get used to looking at yourself in the mirror, you feel as if you're weak or not as strong as you should, while in reality to others you look great. Is this true, because even though I have been going to the gym for years now, and getting sore every week and feeling stronger, I still don't feel like I'm big enough.

So is that myth true? Or am I just really as skinny as the mirror tells me?

  • How many sets, reps for chest growth with push-ups?

I'm stuck away from the gym for a while, so I was wondering what the optimal set/rep count should be for push ups and push ups only for chest... (for chest GROWTH)

1.Should I do 3 sets of 3 different variations? Or more sets?

    2. Should I do really slow reps, like 10 seconds down, 5 up? Or 4 down and 2 up?

    3. What should be the rest period?

I'm not used to training chest with push ups, so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Will my muscles naturally grow in JiuJitsu?

I'm trying to get more muscle in my upper body (mainly chest and lats), will taking classes M-F and resting weekends naturally help with my chest growth? Or should I workout and take JiuJitsu seperately? I really want to improve on JiuJitsu, but I can only take like two classes a week if I workout due to soreness.

So will taking classes everyday, naturally help me grow my chest and lats?

    Thanks!

  • Question about muscle growth in Jiu-Jitsu?

I'm looking to grow my upper body muscles, chest back, etc. I asked a question whether it's better to train before Jiu-Jitsu class or after. Most people said it's better to train on the days where I don't do Jiu-Jitsu.

However, If I workout on a day I don't do Jiu-Jitsu, my chest and/or back will be sore when I have my JJ class the day after, or even two days after. So, will I eventually get to a point where I can workout let's say monday, do class tuesday, workout, wed, etc... Will my muscles eventually continue to grow while not being sore?

  • To gain muscle mass, workout before or after Jiu-Jitsu class?

To gain muscle mass, workout before or after Jiu-Jitsu class?

I've heard that working out before gives muscle mass, and working out after gives conditioning. When I work out before, I do feel my chest the next day, but in the class i feel sort of tired. When I work out after, I don't feel it the next day usually because I'm already exhausted from the class.

So should I work out, lets say my chest or back before my Jiu-Jitsu Class, or after, for the most muscle mass gain?

and by the way, I'm 18, 5'11, 165lbs if it matters at all.

    Thanks!
