What do you think I should name my Charity Poker Room?
I am opening up a charity poker room inside the Crowne Plaza by Detroit Airport. The name of the meeting space is the Apollo room. I would like for the poker room to have a name that utilizes the Crowne, Apollo, or Airport theme. Remember, this is a 5 star hotel and the room will feature top notch equipment, entertainment, and service. So keep it as classy as possible! Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
3 AnswersOther - Advertising & Marketing1 decade agoHow do I deal with an overly friendly coworker?
Ten months ago I started working at a hotel as a front desk agent and the maintenance guy befriended me. At first he was just like a normal coworker, but after about a month he started calling me during my shifts when he wasn't at work. He also began asking me to come over and hang out a lot. (I've never agreed to hang out with him outside of work, nor have I ever called him.) He never acted this way towards any of the other staff here, and actually is quite closed off and rude to most people.
Lately now, he has began leaving me a lot of notes and sometimes even gifts waiting for me at my desk when i get to work. I have no idea how to respond to something like this. I've had the general manager talk to him once already, but that only stopped things temporarily. When I am not at work he tells the other staff that me and him are best friends and we're like brothers. He even tried to talk me into moving in with him a few times.
I feel bad because he might just be a lonely guy with no friends, but on the other hand I am really uncomfortable at work now, and I am not sure how to handle things.
Oh, by the way, I am a 25 yr old male, and the maintenance guy is a 50 yr old male.
7 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoAm I wrong for not wanting my ex's boyfriend at my house while I'm at work?
Ok, so one of my best friends was engaged a couple years back and decided she'd rather be with me than her fiance. So, we started dating and things didn't work out, but now she has brought her ex fiance over to my house for a party my housemates were having while I am here at work. Me and her ex-fiance do not talk or get along with each other. Is it wrong for me to tell her and my housemates that he is not welcome in my home? I feel like it is wrong for her to even invite him there considering the situation. What do you think?
8 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhat do I do about my cousin's drug addictions?
My 26 yr old cousin has always lived far away from me. Recently, his father got a job near my hometown and they all moved in an apt. nearby. That's when I learn from my cousin that he has a deep history of drug addictions / drug dealing. His parents are aware of it, but they have instructed him not to tell any members of the family (uncles, grandparents, cousins, etc.). They are trying to keep his problems a secret and deal with it themselves.
My main concern is that my cousin will fall into the wrong crowd in my town. Some of my friends have had similar problems and I fear that by interacting with these people, my cousin will fall into his bad habits.
How do I approach him and ask him to not associate himself with the others I know of that share his addictions?
Also, is there any advice available on how I can persuade him into seeking professional help rather than only his mother and father?
If you know anything about this topic, please respond.
3 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoI want her back. Am I going about it the right way?
Here's the story. My girlfriend of three months broke up with me about 10 days ago for no apparent reason. We got along very well and she always told me how much she loved me. I honestly did the best that I could to keep her happy. Then, out of nowhere she dumped me. It hurt badly when we broke up, but I decided to be an adult about things. I called her parents and thanked them for all they had done for me. Then I wrote her a letter to share my feelings about the situation. I told her I love her, but that I respect her decision. Then, I gave her space.
A week went by without seeing or talking to her. Then, yesterday she added a bunch of pictures on her myspace from a vacation me and her took this summer. She sent me a comment and I replied and said I'd like to hang out with her soon. The next day she sent me a text that said sunday night we could hang out. And then a couple minutes ago she called me just to say hello. Do you think she is interested again? Am I handling things right?
4 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhy did she dump me?
For three months we've been close as can be. I fell in love with her and she said she fell in love with me. She called me everyday, on all her work/school breaks. And I was invited over to her family's for dinner atleast twice a week. I ate dinner with her family yesterday, watched a movie with her. Then she went to the bar and I went to play cards at a friends. After cards I go to the bar to provide a sober ride home for her and her girlfriends and she is all smiles and says how great I am. Then, an hour later, she becomes all quiet and asks me to step outside and tells me that its over between us. I do not understand.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating1 decade agoDo I have a right to be mad?
I have been officially with my new girlfriend for about 2 months. Earlier tonight I am in her phone looking for a text that I sent her and I come across a saved file with her ex-boyfriend's name. I open it and its full of dirty text messages that she received from him right around the time I met her. She doesnt have a file with my texts that I've sent her. Just a "Jay" file for his filthy messages. What should I do?
10 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoGirls help me understand.?
Whenever I hang out with a female friend of mine and her boyfriend, she always pays more attention to me then she does to him. Sometimes I feel guilty because she'll try to spoon feed me some of her ice cream, or jump on my back while we're walking. She'll ask me questions about how I would handle different situations in a relationship, and then when I answer she says to her boyfriend, "See, that's how it should be." More then a few times she's told her boyfriend that she is "seriously considering breaking up with him". She says it in a joking manner, but I just don't get it. Is she using me to make him jealous? Is it possible she actually is interested in me? I just can't figure out her motives. Anyone understand what's happening?
11 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoPlease give me your opinion on what is going on. I can't figure it out.?
Since becoming single I've had a female friend that asks me to hang out all the time. Everytime I agree to hang out she calls me at the last minute and asks me if one of her guy friends can come along. I don't mind her friends, and me and her are not "dating", but it just seems weird to me that they are always added into the plans at the last minute. Anybody have a clue what's going on?
24 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhat 5 NBA players would you want in your teams starting 5?
No salary cap. No contract restrictions. Just your favorite starting 5. Fill all 5 positions. Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard, and Point Guard. Also think of team chemistry and how one player would play to the strengths of the others.
My starting 5 would be:
PG- Steve Nash
SG- RIP Hamilton
SF- Kevin Garnett
PF- Tim Duncan
C - Amare Stoudamire

I watch NBA basketball almost every night and I can't figure out why refs love Dwayne Wade so much. He gets every call in his favor. Why must the game be tainted by preferential treatment?
