I must have too much time on my hands......

  • Why do the dem's keep insisting that drilling for our own oil won't lower the price of gasoline?

The dem's seem to think that they can negate the age-old law of supply and demand just by opening their mouths. They claim that drilling here and now wouldn't change the price of gas in a major way.

But President George W. Bush officially rescinded the executive ban against off-shore drilling , and the price of oil dropped by $20 per barrel within a week.It would seem that the mere notion of America wanting to exploit it's own resources had an effect on oil prices.

So why is it unreasonable to believe that gas prices would drop if we started drilling for our own oil?

Or is it more reasonable to believe that we could go without the extra oil we need by inflating our tires properly and getting tune-ups?

BTW...most cars manufactured after 1990 don't require traditional tune-ups.Their fuel consumption (and other vital operating parameters) is dictated by on-board computer chips.

  • Why is the media hiding the fact that Obama's speech in Germany was hosted with free beer, food and rock bands?

The media keeps reporting Obama's speech in Germany as some kind of enlightening and pivotal event in human history.

It's reported as being his biggest crowd ever.200,00 in attendance is the figure they put forth.

Could that be because of the free booze and food that was offered? Or maybe because there were live bands on the stage before Obama stepped up?

Why doesn't the liberal media report ALL the facts?

Are they scared that the word will get out that a crowd of 200,000 only showed up to see Obama because of free food , music , and booze?

Another thing to think about...why is it that his visit to a foreign country would draw more attendees than any of his campaign stops here in the States?

And why didn't he visit the injured U.S. troops in the German hospitals like he said he would?

He said he wasn't in Germany to campaign for the office of President , but why else would he go there? A "Citizen of the World"? Give me a break!

    This guy is a phony!

    Tell me why I'm wrong!

  • Am I the only one who absolutely HATES American Idol?

I admit that I'm not the most cultured or educated person , but I think that this show has gotten WAY out of hand.

When I wake up in the morning I turn on the TV news so I can prepare for my day by getting the weather and traffic , but first I have to endure footage of the previous night's episode of this abominable show! How is this crap news-worthy?

After I dress myself and get in my car to drive to work I tune in my local shock-jocks , or maybe a local news radio station , and they're ALL also talking about this crap!

Then I get to the office...atleast one person or another wants to discuss...you guessed it! American Idol.

No one...and I mean NO ONE around me is talking about things that matter! Our elected officials are robbing us blind. We have people swarming over our borders illegally. Our currency is going down the toilet. The price of oil is going through the roof , and our media wants to talk about "reality" shows!

What's happening to our country?! Wake up people!

  • When will our elected officials start obeying the will of the people , and stop looking out for themselves?

Raising taxes + increasing government spending = robbery of the people!

What will it take to stop this trend?

More importantly , how much will we tolerate before we take action as a people?

Too many people forget that our elected officials work for us! We don't answer to them...they answer to US!

Why don't we raise our collective voice and tell these pigs that it's time to step back from the trough?

We are a nation of victims , in attitude and in truth.

The problem is that we perceive our victomhood wrongly.

We are each responsible for ourselves , and can shrug victimhood by taking resposibility for our own destinies instead of blaming others for our own problems.

But we ARE being victimized by our government. We slave away at our jobs , and for our efforts we see a smaller portion of our pay.In return for the money we surrender (money that's deducted BEFORE we even get our rightful share!) we tolerate do-nothing fat-cats who get rich telling us how to live!

    What say you?!

  • Why should taxpayers be responsible for bailing out all of these sub-prime mortgage loans?

The housing boom and bust wouldn't happen if it wasn't for irresponsible lending and borrowing practices.

Too many lenders "fudged" the books. They made lots of money brokering mortgages to people that would've never qualified for traditional home loans. But since there was suddenly three times as many families who "qualified" for home loans the supply of homes didn't meet demand.SO what happens? The law of supply and demand takes over , and home prices go through the roof! But the lenders kept lending to more people for homes they don't reasonably qualify for at higher prices.Meanwhile...people who've been saving for years to buy a home (the right way!) suddenly see housing prices rise beyond their budget.

Now all the people who've been riding the gravy train want to cry about the mess they're in! People like me (who've been saving responsibly , and stayed away from this questionable market) are now left wondering about our future , and why we

are supossed to bail these folks out!

  • Hey Marylanders! How do you like the increased taxes that our new governer has imposed?

$2.00 cigarette increase is only the first new tax!

Your property taxes will go up next!

We get slot machines! Extra revenue, but no cuts on government spending!

    What's next?!

  • Tired of homework questions?

It's the first week of the school year, and already some kids are looking for answers on Yahoo Answers!

Sounds stupid b!tching about it,I know.

But they don't even bother asking for help when it comes to understanding the basic "how" or "why" behind their school work. They just post their multiple choice questions and the a,b,c, or d's that go with them, and don't even ask for an argument that might help them understand why a,b,c, or d might be the right answer.

Also...I answered one of these future leaders of industry with something like "For Christ's sake! School's only been in session a week and you're already begging for answers?!"

I got reported to Yahoo for that one.My answer was removed, and I was docked points. My answer was a little harsh,I know, but back in my day this kind of thing was called CHEATING!

So my REAL question is this...where is this country heading when institutions like Yahoo SUPPORT cheating, and punish those that admonish young'uns AGAINST cheating?

  • Have any of you ever gotten a grocery store to pay for damage to your car caused by a shopping cart?

I came out of the grocery store to find a shopping cart on my car.It left a HUGE dent. The car is new,so I parked far away from every one else so I wouldn't get door-dings from careless slobs.Unfortunately all that extra room provided the cart with plenty of asphalt (it's a sloped parking lot) to gain a good deal of speed.

The problem I'm having with convincing the store to pay up is that I waited until the next day to report the incident. But I had what I feel is a good reason to wait.I wanted to go home and get my camera so I could get pictures of the parking lot,but the batteries in the camera were dead and needed to charge. The lot was FULL of abandoned shopping carts that day,and I wanted photographic evidence that the store wasn't taking reasonable measures to keep the lot orderly. But I wanted to get the pics BEFORE I made a complaint, otherwise they would've had the lot cleaned up.When I went back the next day the lot was full of carts again,so I was able to get lots of pics.
