  • School in Maine making birth control pills and patches available to students?

I heard today that a middle school in Maine is making birth control pills and patches available to their students. Before they can get them, they have to get a note from their parent or guardian to be treated in the school's clinic and then they have to have an exam. The care is confidential and is up the student to tell their parents what happened at the apppointments, the school legally can not give out that information. What do you all think about this? Good, bad, for it, against it and why.

  • Good songs for Father-Daughter dance at wedding?

I am getting married in June and I was wondering what a good song is for the Father-Daughter dance, besides I Loved Her First by Heartland (I can't use that one because my sister in law used for her and my brother's wedding last summer).

  • Out of Work?

My fiance has been out of work since June when he got into an accident and had to have surgery. He works in Construction so summer time is when he makes most of his money for the year as he is off for a few months at wintertime. He has been getting checks from Workman's Comp but it only a small percentage of what he would have been making with all the overtime and per diam he gets when he is working. He also has two kids that he is trying to pay child support for and a truck payment. I work full time with a few hours of overtime but it is nothing near what we should be making. Him being out of work for so long is putting a strain on our relationship and I'm worried that we are not going to be able to bounce back even after he gets back to work in a few weeks. I've been trying to pay for most of the things that we need but it seems like he doesn't understand that I have my own things to pay for and it is getting to the point that we are fighting almost every night.

  • Anyone use the IUD birth control Mirena?

I am considering getting the IUD Mirena inserted. My current form of birth control is the patch (for 2-3 years) and I love it but my fiance and I are not looking to have kids for the next several years and would prefer the convienience of not having to change the patch weekly. I was wondering if anyone on answers is currently on it or has been on it in the past. Likes/dislikes, cost (did insurance cover a portion of it), side effects. Anything would be helpful. Thanks

  • Ever Been Misdiagnosed or Told you are too young to have a certain illness?

How many times has this happened to you all? I was just wondering because I just came back from a Uriology appointment (because I am having frequent bladder infections or bladder infection symtoms and my doctor was worried about Interstiitial Cystitis) but the only thing the urologist could say is you're too young for that (even though kids have been documented to have it as young as 5) and you don't have the same symptoms (even though I have every one of them). He THINKS (not sure) I may have something else but he didn't do any tests to rule IC out, just gave me some Deterol and told me if that didn't help in a month to call him up. Do you ever think that sometimes certain doctors (not all because I have been to some really good ones) don't understand how much pain you are in even when you tell them and don't take what you are saying seriously?

  • Does anyone have Interstitial Cystitis?

I am going to the Urologist in a few days to find out if I have this or not and from what I read on Web MD about it, it is a syndrome that has many causes and no cure. First of all I am wondering what kinds of tests they do at your first Urology appointment and also, how do you cope with the bladder spams and pain? I've been living on Ibprophen for the last week but am wondering if there is anything else I should be trying that aliviates the symptoms a bit (besides Uristate and Azo, I tries those, they don't help all that much). How long have you had it and how often do you get symptoms? I'm an very curious about this and am wondering how it has affected other people's lives so that I kind of know what to expect. Anything you can tell me would be very much appreciated!!!

  • Buying cards on Ebay?

I make scrapbooks and cards for every occasion and just recently thought that it might be fun to sell them on Ebay or another website like that. I was wondering how many of you out there would pay for handmade cards off the internet (pictures would be provided) and how much you would buy them for? I just want to get an idea of how many people would be interested if I did start to do that.

    Thanks for all your answers.

  • Should the grooms family be expected to pay for half of the wedding?

when my parents already told my brother when the planning started that they were not going to be able to contribute finacially. My future sister in laws (lets call her Ann) mom called my mom one day and said "your half the wedding is $7500", my mom said that they couldn't afford that, Ann's mom then said "well, just sign a contract and when your house sells, you can pay us back", my mom then said no again. At that point, Ann's mom very rudely demanded to speak with my dad, who then said no too. My parents have two other weddings to pay for in the very near future and if Ann's parents had a boy, they would have said the same thing. Ever since then, they have been very rude to my parents and my sister and I, who are bridesmaids, have been left out of wedding related functions. My brother is 26, Ann is 22. They are both old enough to chip in for THEIR wedding (which is $30,000) but my brother doesn't make much money and Ann refuses to work. What do you think?

  • Can you get pregnant while you are on your period?

My boyfriend and I are having a little dispute about this. He insists that you can and I say no you can't. I am on the patch and the week that you have your period, you don't wear a patch. If you can indeed get pregnant during your period, why arn't women protected by their birth control?

  • I have the dress but how about the hair??

My brother is getting married on Saturday and I am a bridesmaid. The dress that my future sister in law picked out is a coral color with an empire waist and a sheer overlay on top of the dress. We are also going to be wearing wreaths of flowers on our heads and I was wondering if anyone knows of a cute way to wear hair that is a little past the shoulders? I was kind of looking for a hairstyle that was half up and curly but not quite sure what to do now that we are wearing flowers on our heads. Ideas????
