  • McCanns again - sorry. Gerry's back at work. Kate is making press comments alone?

I agree that one of them should be at work - bringing in some money, now that they've had to dip into the 'charity fund' to make 2 months £1000 mortgage payments! Yeah, the donations were made so that the fund could help them to pay living and travel expenses. I don't think that they would have to pay their way on all the private flights or airline sponsored charter flights. Or accomodation, come to think of it. Just seems odd that he's gone back to work while they 'fully support each other' and Kate's now making statements alone, saying "I believe..." "I wany MY daughter home"...She should be with her MUMMY"

Something's been odd from the start. I hate the thought that any parent could harm their own child. Then again, I hate the though that anyone at all could harm a child. I really hope that I'm proved wrong and that Kate, Gerry or any of their friends were involved. Hope I'm wrong but wouldn't be completely amazed if they were.

  • Positive discrimination?

Can anyone explain to me why it is acceptable to have MOBO awards and a Black Police Officers Federation? What if there was a MOWO or a Non-Black Police Officers Federation. (Maybe I'm saying Federation when I should be saying Association - that's not the point of my question). I'm not willing to go through the discussion of racism etc - I'm not racist and that the end of that. It's the whole issue of positive discrimation that baffles me and skin colour isn't all of it. The male/female, able bodied/disabled, sexuality, mental health etc. But primarily such a blatant rasicist bias, whatever one's point of view is what I just can't work out. If, on the off chance, that you have read this far....can you give me a sensible answer please?

  • Most Haunted - I know I'm way behind....?

I've only just realised that Derek Accora was sacked! In my own defence - he was the main reason I stopped watching in the first place! Now - does anyone else wish that Yvette would stop swearing at just the right moment that the broadcast has to be 'bleeped' so that we can't hear what is supposedly scaring her?

  • citalopram/ciprimal?

Has anyone had a problem with weight gain with that medication? I have been been prescribed numerous anti-depressants over the last very many years. Now that the Cipramil has been taken to a 60mg daily dose, my mood is a little bit better, but I've gained a LOT of weight. I definately don't overeat. Anyone else experienced the same effect?

  • If I were to knit to order a 100% wool sweater or cardigan to a complex aran pattern. How much could I expect?

to reasonably expect to charge. Similarly a 5 foot square, 3 ply, christening shawl. In both examples, I would provide the wool.

  • PLEASE PLEASE don't dismiss this question because it is about Chris de Burgh.?

I've been listening to his music for more than 30 years - long, long before the commercial 'lady in red' nonsense. I find it really frustrating that people dismiss him. I can't be the only person who still listens to and appreciates the albums through from "Far beyond these castle walls", "Crusader" and "man on the line". Please assure me, someone, that his music is well worth listening too. And.......the lastest album......the storyman, it's like back to the beginning, when the songs were stories!

  • Protect and Perfect Beauty Serum from Boots - does it work?

Found it eventually - it's like gold dust! Spent so much time and energy tracking it down I've forgotten why it's meant to be so wonderful in the first place!!!

  • Little Black Sambo Golliwog dolls.?

My 49 year old friend mentioned to her daughter about the Golliwog badges one used to be able to collect with labels on jam jars. The daughter is 22 and had NO IDEA what a golliwog was. My friend and I thought that that was good thing - no racist stereotypes etc. Since then, recently, I have seen several shops selling "golliwog" dolls. Same appearance as the 'little black sambo" from 40-year-old school books! What do others think about that?

  • eye problem - corneal ulcer?

After a week of having a sore eye - feeling like I had something in my eye - no swelling or bloodshot, just some pain. Saw my opthamologist today and he said it's an ulcer on my cornea and needs "aggressive" antibiotic treatment. Gave me drops to be used hourly - the usual dose is 4-hourly - and an ointment to be used at night. Stuff I've read on web is really scary. Can anyone tell me if they've had this problem and how it turned out?

  • Am I aiming too high?

I'm 'dating' a guy just now who is way out of my league. I have a high IQ and am just about to start working toward a University degree. He has 4 degrees and a high profile job. I REALLY like him. Am I "punching above my weight"?
