will you join the boycott against Disney for trademarking the term "seal team 6" so they can make action?
figures and oterh cheap crap made from poisonous plastics in China. I am boycotting them - as an American taxpayer who actually pays taxes every year, I AM one of the owners of "Seal Team 6" - I paid to train them and equip them and Disney has no right to humiliate our guys with cheap Chinese products just to profit themselves and their stockholders. WHat do you think?
4 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoLegal for a New York probation officer to discuss details of her clients with friends and family?
I was recently visiting some in-laws in another state when suddenly a relative ("Susie") started talking trash about a very close friend of ours in Westchester County, NY. We were stunned. Susie knew the intimate details of a situation the friend was caught up in last year in by being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person. It turns out that Susie's sister in law "Clara" is a probation officer in Westchester/Yonkers, NY and had practically read the entire case file to Susie giving her details which were not made public. Susie seemed to feel that because she had this connection and information it was her duty to spread it through gossip and exaggeration. When we objected over and that she was judging people she did not know, Susie's defense was that she was also a "victim" of Clara the Probation Officer because once when a phone call from Clara was not returned quickly enough, Clara had used her power as a probation officer in New York to convince the Sheriff's department in a state 1000 miles away to pound on Susie's door at 8 am and demand to see that the family was safe. To me this is an extreme abuse of power. Additionally, one would think that a probation officer has no more right to discuss a case with an outsider without permission anymore than a physician has the right to discuss a patient's details. So, is this illegal or simply unethical? I would like to file a complaint with Clara's supervisor - who would that be? The Mayor, District Atty? Yes, my goal is to get Clara reprimanded - anyone with any real factual law enforcement knowledge regarding this situation is greatly appreciated.
5 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoWhy do Canadian/American mothers today name their children strange and made up names?
It has been proven time and again that the exact same resume with two different names on it like Du-Shawn Jones and John Jones results in John Jones getting the interview every time over Du-Shawn (or LaFawnda or Khlowie) Jones. Du-Shawn etc never even gets his/her foot in the door because people's built in prejudices cause them to automatically make assumptions about him and throw his resume out. He may be by far the better candidate but because of the ethnic or weird name, he never gets a chance to show his superior skills. Research has been done which involves thousands of the exact same resumes with English names plus all other types and the unpronounceable and ethnic names or made up phonetically spelled names popular with teen mothers today are the big losers and get screened out. One of the things noted about Asians is that they choose an English name when they come to Canada or America to better blend in and we know Asians are the most successful ethnic group. I notice a huge number of silly unpronounceable made up misspelled names here that people are actually going to burden little babies with rather than giving the child a nice sounding name that everyone can pronounce without guessing and letting the specialness and standout features of the child be in his or her personality, actions, and talent rather than some weird name. Why are mothers today indulging themselves and their desires and not taking their children's lifelong embarrassment and loss of opportunity into account? Hard to pronounce and spell names are hard to remember. If they can't remember your name you will not be called for the opportunities of life. Why this selfishness of burdening little babies with as many as 3 polysyllabic names not including the last name? Are you afraid that the only thing that will make the child special is some strange "unique" name? Please explain this to me in a way that makes sense for the future of the child.
13 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoWhy weren't big spending Republicans like (Incumbents) Boehner and Blunt punished by the Tea Party?
and actually rewarded? Seems to go against Tea Party claims. No trolls please. Just informed opinions. Thanks.
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy hasn't Ozzy Osborne sued the Westboro Church for changing the lyrics to "Crazy Train" and singing them on?
TV on the steps of the Supreme Court. Fred Phelps and his attorney kids are the freaks who picket our dead soldiers funerals and they have made evil lyrics to "Crazy Train" Do you thing Ozzy should go after them and sue them since they will be getting money for lawyer fees from the dead soldier's father when the Roberts court upholds their freedom of speech rights?
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhen Glenn Beck goes on Bill O'Reilly's show - does Bill go out of his way to make Glenn sound reasonable?
I have seen Glenn Beck on his own show (wacko conspiracy theories and revisionist history and fake tears) and The O'Reilly Factor (bombast and intolerance). But I have recently seen Glenn on Bill's show 3 times and Bill made statements which Glenn disagreed with - Bill sounded like the Skousen wack-job and Glenn sounded like reasonable intelligent human being in several situations which he never sounds like on his show. Do you think it is planned that way?
6 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoif I gave my upsidedown tomato plant too much Miracle Grow, will it recover?
I have a big boy tomoato plant hanging upside down on a balcony and getting full sun from noon until dark. The foliage is very strong and the stems thick. The buds look very narrow and the one that started to open turned brown on the tips but it appears there is a small fruit inside it. Is this from too much Miracle grow? Will it recover or should I start over?
