I am trying to add my email to my new tablet but every time I try to add it, it say authentication failed. I am entering the correct info.?

I had to upgrade the email. Today it diverts back to old and doesn't work. Now what?
The old email has no delete or forward/reply tabs to use. Can I just stay with the old version to keep it simple and what I know how to use?
