  • Can Continental ExtremeContact DW tires be used on a 2007 VW Passat 2.0 turbo?

    (Tire size 235 45-17)

I was told by another VW Passat owner that specific tires must be purchased or they'll make weird noises when on the road.

    Thanks~

  • Dream interpretation?

I've heard that dreaming of a deceased loved one has a meaning, and that dreaming of a deceased loved one speaking to you means something else? Does anyone know much about this?

In the past I've dreamed of my Dad who passed away after a long, hard battle with cancer. In previous dreams he hasn't spoken to me - but looked great - healthy. Not in the shape he was in at the end. Last night he spoke to me. This time, though he didn't look as bad as he did at the end, he didn't look good either.

Has anyone ever studied this? I don't even know where to begin to try and work through all this. Some of the websites I went to didn't have any info that I could use.

Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.

  • Computer hardware question?

    Hi.

On start-up my computer says that the hardware monitor has detected an error.

I've figured out how to get to the necessary screen for the info (sorry, don't know all the right lingo here...).

Anyway the Power fan speed is registering between 1748-1757 rpms - this number is red, the CPU speed is in the 3000's.

It's a Pentium 4 processor, with an Asus motherboard - that much I know - only because my brother built it more than a few years ago and I have the box for it & all...I can't really have him take a look - we're in different states.

Does anyone know what the appropriate speed for the power fan should be? I'm sort of assuming it should be up around the CPU fan speed, but we all know what they say about assuming...

Is the power fan a very hard thing to replace? Expensive?

I did manage to replace my CD drive on my own and add RAM so as computer inept/ignorant as I am....if given directions, I figure I'm at least as good as a trained monkey... : )

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • Rice noodles? How to cook?

Unbelievable! The hubby comes home with "Banh Pho" brand rice noodles & there are no cooking directions on the package??

Can anyone offer advice on this? The noodles themselves are very thin - like a flat spaghetti - as far as the width of the noodle. The only thing I saw on-line was for cooking the ones that look more like a linguini - a wider noodle.

Well, I hope I can get feedback - soon - he's started dinner already - yikes!!

    Thanks in advance : )

  • American Express Travelers Check problems?

    Hi.

I feel like I've just left "The Twilight Zone"...where only plastic is allowed.

I went to my hometown in Illinois, as well as stayed at a Wisconsin Dells resort, with hundreds of dollars in Am Ex Travelers' Checks in my pocket, and my checks were either denied or looked at weird in hotels, gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores & liquor stores...

People looked at them as though they were counterfeit money or said "We don't accept personal checks"....which as you know...they aren't...

We used these things, no problem (whenever we could) on a cruise to the Caribbean a couple of years ago, not wanting to charge everything on our credit cards.

Has anyone else had the same trouble?

  • Dog walking business for my daughter...?

    Hi.

My 11 year old daughter wants to earn some money this summer by starting up a dog walking service.

I'm wondering if there's anyone that has experience with this kind of work and what kind of rates they charged? For what it's worth, we're in an upper midwestern U.S. metropolitan area.

    Thanks~

  • Abusive message received from an answers community member?

So this little pr*ck didn't like the truth, and sent a very misogynistic, abusive message to me....but of course didn't have the seeds to put his ID on it....

I'm pretty sure I know who it is, since his question showed an obvious disrespect for women in power...

How do I turn him in to Yahoo Answers? I got as far as feedback and posed my question/complaint in the "other" category, but messages e-mailed seem to be a different thing altogether as far as abuse is concerned.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks~

**Oh, and I would suggest anyone wanting to answer should play nice - abuse will be reported. I have no use for haters.

  • Can cats and gecko's co-exist?

My daughter will be getting a Bahamian Anole lizard (gecko) soon...and we have 2 cats.

The cats really made a mess of things with our fish - killed them all - even though the tank had a hood. And I did find one of our cats doing her best impression of a trapeze artist, hanging and swinging from the bird cage...

Does anyone have an opinion of what the poor lizard's chances will be??

    Thanks in advance.

  • Vapor lock? Then what?

I own a 2000 Saturn L series, over the years it's run like a champ. Now, I'm not sure what's up.

So the story goes....when I was a kid, Dad would fill the car full with gas, then after the pump shut off he'd wiggle the big sedan & manage to get more gas in the tank.

I did that with my fuel injected car & got vapor lock (so the neighbor explained) - it wouldn't start. After letting it sit for a day it started up, but with the "service engine soon" light on.

Now it starts fine when it's cold, but when I drive it, shut it off then try and restart it when the engine's warm, it won't start. Let it cool, it starts again.

    Does anyone have an idea?

Of course I need to get it looked at, just mid-week is a bad time to give up the car...

    Thanks.

  • The death of a culture/society?

I once heard someone say that an early sign of the death of a people is the breakdown of their language.

Does anyone else see that here in America, what with all the slang and the instant messaging abbreviations, or the inability of so many people to really write with any intelligence, let alone speak with it??

  • The better Prince guitar solo??

The hubby & I are at an impasse. One of us believes Prince's guitar in the song "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man", from "Sign of the Times" is better than the guitar in "Computer Blue", from the "Purple Rain" soundtrack.

    Any opinions?

We both think the man doesn't get enough props.

  • DIY deck project?

So the old deck has rotted in many spots and now water is leaking into the room below the header board ( is that what it's called? The board that connects the deck to the house?). Anyway we've removed everything but that header board thing. Is there a right or wrong way to remove it? (If it makes a difference, we have siding). Any advice on DIY books - like "Deck Building for Dummies"? I've done my share of painting, wallpapering, wood finishing but no real construction type projects.

    Thanks.

  • I need make-up advice from the ladies please?

Up until recently, I wasn't wearing (liquid) foundation anymore. I'd used it in the past, but never liked the feel.

Right now I'm using Revlon's Age Defying foundation. It was fine in the winter, but now that it's getting warmer (and more humid), I don't like what's happening in my T-zone. The make-up's getting...gross.

Even tho' I'm nearly 40, I still deal with a fair amount of oiliness in my T-zone. I blot the oil throughout the day instead of caking on more powder. But as the day wears on I just really don't like what's happening with it.

I need advice on a brand that'll hold up better in the warmer weather and with my oily skin. Preferably something I can get at Target, etc. I have enough bills, I don't want to spend a fortune on my make-up.

    Thanks!
