Bleached hair -- it's yellow, now what?
On Sunday evening, I used Clariol's Nice N Easy Born Blonde in Ultra Blue. I didn't realize it was a bleaching kit as I am trying to lift my hair to a platinum blond. My hair was already colored a golden blonde with super light highlights and my roots were growing in, they are a dark, dark blonde. So I throw on the bleach and after 80 minutes it turned yellow. My hair is super yellow and fairly light and the ends are super light orange. (It's actually fairly subtle). I hate it and do not have the color I want. I want to get platinum blonde hair but I'm unsure of what to do now. I went to Sally's and they suggested I use a hi-lift blonde dye from Ion with a Violet base. The swatch is super platinum blonde, but I am unsure of what the results will be.
I have read that I should try a toner but the Sally's people said they didn't think a toner would do much for me, and I have read that I should try to bleach it even paler, but I really don't want to put bleach in my hair. I didn't realize I was putting it in there in the first place.
I have debated just tapping out and dying my hair with an OTC dark blonde and call it a day too. I really want platinum hair but I am unsure of the route to take here.
I have the high lift at home waiting on me, but is that the correct option?? Help.
7 AnswersHair1 decade agoCan I still get unemployment if I switch parttime jobs?
I am currently collecting unemployment from PA. I am working a part time job, but they are only giving me 5 hours a month. I found a Nanny job for 20hours a week with a better pay rate. I will still be financially eligible for unemployment, but am I able to quit the first part time job for the new offer and keep my benefits?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoMarriage for one kid, not the other?
Basically, there are two members in the family and they are brother and sister. The sister is getting married in October to her fiancé and they have decided marriage will be a part of their lives. The brother however, is in a deeply committed relationship and has been for sometime. They don’t want marriage but want to be with one another, they just don’t want to deal with the ceremonies or legality. The mom and dad are paying a great deal for the daughter to have the wedding of her dreams. Mind you, she has only been with this guy for about 13 months while the other couple has been together for over 4 years. The family has been really supportive of their relationship but I’m noticing how they are treating the sister’s wedding and making such a fuss over the ceremony and giving so much to her and her fiancé and not to the brother and his partner. Is it wrong for the parents to give so much to the girls wedding and not offer some sort of compensation for the other child? (I'm a cousin).
21 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoSwimming with fins, is it effective?
Okay, I have started swimming in the pool. I am slowly but steadily building up my endurance and stamina. I do a lot of breast stroke and I'm going to try and work on the butterfly because it really takes the most energy. I'm not the biggest freestyle or backstroke fan but will do them when I feel like it... I swim for a total of 40 minutes but probably 10 of that is used for rest, so I would say 30 is used swimming.
But today I tried on the fins. I was constantly moving, not taking as much 'rest' time as I did a few days ago and found it much easier to swim with them on. They helped me focus on my actual technique which I know is good... if I got too winded I would turn to my back and just work my legs until I felt okay to do laps again.
Is this effective? Is it okay to leave the fins on? Rather, will I see the same results this way as I would without fins?
Any advice is welcomed! Thanks!
8 AnswersSwimming & Diving1 decade agoQuestions about Korea, China, Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan?
Alright, I'm considering taking a job (English as Second Language teacher) in one of these places. However, I am completely ignorant to the lifestyles and cultures of them. I have no clue which I would prefer. Some questions I have about all of them (please answer whatever you know about any of the places, it would be great help!):
1 - Would the language barrier be a big issue? (Me only knowing English)
2- Where is the best place to live for the least amount of money?? (I would like to save as much as possible while living there, I will get a free furnished apartment and free airfare, so just general living costs such as food and entertainment/clothing...)
3- What are some do's/don'ts of the countries?
4- What is the usual climate and temperatures for these places?
5- Any other comments or advice?
Thank you in advance!
6 AnswersOther - Asia Pacific1 decade agoAllentown, PA, apartments question...?
(and other surrounding towns - Orefield, etc). I will be moving up there in about a year. I am probably going to go with an apartment. What are the 'rates' (include utilities please) for one bedroom apartments? Also, am I required to have a marriage liscense to live with someone of the opposite sex in a one bedroom? Any advice/info would be very helpful. Tell me of any places you reccommend!
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoHow do I become a Case Manager for troubled/"at risk" youth?
I will have a BS in Sociology (Criminology) in December 2007. I have been job hunting and have some decent prospects, and I want to move to PA upon graduation, but if anyone had any pointers or suggestions I would be very thankful. I don't have very much experience, just a 3 month internship and a 6 month 'mentor' program that I was involved with. I don't expect much money but I am really passionate about this and am fearful about finding a job in this field when I graduate. Seems everyone wants people with a lot of experience.
Any case managers out there? I would be willing to hear what you did in order to get your job! Are there any classes I should look into taking to help boost my chances?
THANKS!
