SAHM of three kids - 8 year old son & 6 year old daughter & 4 year old daughter All three have nursed well beyond a year and been allowed to self-wean. Oldest is in a gifted & talented 3nd grade classroom. Middle is in 1st grade. Youngest is homeschooled for preschool. I am an advocate for unmedicated childbirth, leaving little boys intact, extended breastfeeding, child-lead weaning, and gentle discipline. I believe that parents should be actively involved in their child's education.
Purging old toys?
How do you get your kids to sort through their old toys to make room for the new loot from Santa and the Grandparents?
I do some purging in the fall to get rid of stuff they don't play with anymore. I can usually sneak out a few things that they don't play with but I know they might try to insist on keeping for no good reason at all. But usually I like for them to eliminate some stuff again around the first of the year when I see how much they get for Christmas. How do you convince them that they need to pick some things to part with?
For example, if they have a bunch of baby dolls.....how do you get them to pick some to sell or donate? My kids seem to be turning into pack rats!
Just curious what is working for others.

If so.....you may want to reconsider.
Apparantly Nestle's Good Start Infant Formula with Iron was tested by the FDA, who found that the levels of calcium and phosphorus were not only below what the FDA requires, but also below what the product label states!

A new study by University of Sydney researchers looked at 1,300 women who gave birth in 1997. The study found that mothers who have an epidural are more likely to have problems in the first week after birth and to stop breastfeeding early.

We have birth photos of our first and third but none of our second until after the birth. (She came too quick for anyone else to get there to take them.) I wish I had birth pix of all three and actually, I wish I had allowed a video now too. My birth photos are very special to me and I really do cherish them. The ones of our third (home waterbirth) are very special because we had a photographer friend take them and they are just beautiful.
