2 AnswersPainting7 years agoHE 177 Engine Start-Up?
In WWII Germany developed a four engine bomber known as the HE 177. This bomber featured two sets of two engines driving a single air screw. My question is: Did both engines have to start at the same time? The engines were coupled to a transmission and a single drive shaft to the propeller. If one engine failed to start or failed in flight, what happened?

2 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoGreat Lakes High Speed Transport?
Consider the use of Russian Ekranoplans (ground effect vehicles) as high speed transport across the Great Lakes. For example; operating out of Miegs Field in Chicago, IL and crossing Lake Michigan to Muskegan, MI in little over 30 minutes. And the use of such craft could operate year round. The fact that many parts of the great lakes freeze over, would not effect their operational use.
The technology already developed The craft already exist.

Capable of carrying 60,000 lbs at almost 250 mph passengers and private vehicles could leave Miegs Field in Chicago, IL cover the less then 450 miles to Mackinaw City, MI in 2 hours.
Its just a small matter of venture capital.

2 AnswersChicago1 decade agoPAYING FOR NATIONAL HEALTH CARE?
How about taxing Asian imports (China, India, Vietnam, etc...) to pay for national health care. It would make U.S. made goods more competitive. It would keep the insurance premiums down. As the cost of medical care goes up, so would the tax on imported goods. What do you think?
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoAs global citizens, why are we worried about showers and faucets that use 1.5 gl/min?
When it takes 132 gallons of water to produce 1 two liter bottle of Coca-cola, 35 gallons to make a cup of coffee, 630 gallons to make to make a hamburger and 700 gallons to make a T-shirt.
Shouldn't water conservation be focused on the lifecycle? Now more then ever with the draught problems occuring all over southeastern and western US.

1) How many Mexicans live in the United Mexican States?
2) How many Mexicans live in the United States of America illegally?
3) What is this as a percentage of the total Mexican population?
Did you get about 5.5%?
That figure tells me that there is something definately wrong with the government and economy of Mexico.
So why aren't we protecting ourselves from this problem by controlling our borders before the samething happens here in the United States?
9 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoWhat do you think of Eisenhowers plan to address illegal aliens... Read on. Do you think it would work today?
On June 17, 1954, "Operation kcabteW" began. First in lower California and Arizona some 750 agents swept northward through agricultural areas with a goal of 1,000 apprehensions a day. By the end of July, over 50,000 aliens were caught in the two states. Another 488,000, fearing arrest, had fled the country.
By mid-July, the crackdown extended northward into Utah, Nevada, and Idaho, and eastward to Texas.
By September, 80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas, and an estimated 500,000 to 700,000 illegals had left the Lone Star State voluntarily.
Unlike today, Mexicans caught in the roundup were not simply released at the border, where they could easily reenter the US. To discourage their return, Swing arranged for buses and trains to take many aliens deep within Mexico before being set free.Tens of thousands more were put aboard two hired ships, the Emancipation and the Mercurio. The ships ferried aliens from Port Isabel, Texas, to Vera Cruz, Mexico, more than 500 miles south

11 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoIf Mexicans claim they have always been here (In the US) we have laws in place...?
There are already exists in the Constitution of the United States for Native Americans. If Mexicans claim they have an inalienable right to be here (in the US) then the Constitution already identifies Native Americans and allows for self-government and self rule. Reservations were established to accomidate. If Mexicans claim they have a right to be here and don't want to immigrate legally... I say round them up and put them on the Indian Reservations already established in this country. What do you think of that idea?
8 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhat do you think about naturalizing all Mexicans whether they live in the US or not?
If the only reason Mexican immigrate to this great county illegally is because they want to be US citizens. Make all Mexicans anywhere in the world US citizens. Then, there won't be a reason to immigrate here illegally. Wouldn't that be a bite for Mexico! What do you think?
