  • Broadway shows with an 11 yrs old?

I am taking my little girl to Manhattan next month for a few days. I would like to take her to a show, I think she would like the glitz and excitment of it.. which one would be best? Mamma Mia is cool - but I've seen it... I can bear to see it again, but there is so much more, I am sure!

Anybody has opinions and suggestions about what would be best? She is more rock than classics, loves reading, love dancing and singing.

  • Is it better to watch TV on a PC screen, or PC files on a TV???

I have lots of AVI files on my pc, but my screen is relatively small. I also have a large oldish TV (5 or 6 years, no flat screen), where I have cable... and I watch mostly the daily news. My sofa is nice and comfy... if one watches TV - but of course it is not at all set up for the PC, which is in another corner!!!

So I am thinking of reviewing the room, getting a better screen to replace the current TV, and connect to the PC core and files... but I am hesitant in deciding what to get. There are beautiful large PC screens, but i cannot watch TV on those (or can I?? how do they connect to cable?) - a flat TV screen is better then?

    I will appreciate your help.

  • people always too busy... is it rude?

I work full time, and am a single mom - but I always did my best to find time for friends and everybody. When I've been at home with my kid as a baby, I enjoyed the extra time for reading, having fun, taking walks and so on - I wasn't bored, but definitely I had loads of extra time.

Recently, one of my best friends has stopped working, bless her, to enjoy a "life of leisure". She's always been very "busy, busy, busy". Note that she doesn't have children. Now she sent me an email (2 months later), saying that she is so incredibly busy, she cannot see anybody before mid next month... I got peeved, and felt I am at the bottom of the priorities list!!!

what do you think? is it normal to be so busy all the time, or is it just a lack of organization? or is it simply that she has learned how to say NO, and I am apparently included in it?

  • Business traveller in Tokyo?

Just landed in Tokyo, and I had little time to prepare this trip (other than the business side). I just have a guide book, and 10 days - most will be business, but if someone has good idea about what to do else - bearing in mind that a woman travelling alone can be made feel "unconfortable" here....

Ideally, I am looking at a couple of off-the-beaten-track ideas, some shopping ideas (not the classy department stores at a zillion dollars for a pantyhose!!!), and one or two night-time ideas that are safe and will take me out of my lonely hotel room with a blasting japanese tv (courses of german in japanese was this morning's show).

    THHHHAAAANKKKKKKKS!!!

I am a lonely lilith here.
