Hedgehog

I am interesting in buying a Hedgehog, but the only answers I can find are for answers in different countries. I do not know much about caring for Hedgehogs as this will be my first time owning one. Also, how much does it cost for them to go to the vets, and whats the specific budget I should put towards toys, cage, the hedgehog and so on. But can I have general information like how long they live, can they catch illness, preferences (like activities, enterainment, toys, cage size, ect.), also - do they need a schedule to go to the vets, for example once every month - will their be any signs to notice if the Hedgehog is ill. I just need alot of information before I change my mind about getting one. Are they hard to look after, do they need schedules for baths and vets, do they need regular walk-abouts outside, and so on.
