lost a friend because you did the right thing?

okay, so here's my story.

my friend was not in class last friday so I asked one of our classmates if they know why. then one of my girls told me she saw her with 2 guys but she was wearing uniform. I described one of the guys and confirmed that it was her bf she was with. she (my friend) has low grades, doesn't study, lazy, frequently absent, doesn't care about her studies, and only cares about his bf who, in fact, is not faithful to her. so, enough of my friend's crap. so, I asked her brother why is she absent, then he said she went to school. so, there, that's where it all started, I narrated the whole story about my friend. then he said, him and their mom talked to my friend there, then she and her boyfriend got mad at me. but I know I did the right thing. or did I? tell me what you think guys.
