  • American bulldog puppy, vet and I agree its a venomous bite .?

@ weeks ago my puppy was out in the yard playing with his mother for the evening and when it was time for him to come inside I noticed that the left bottom side of his neck was a little swollen and 2 days later it was swollen so big that I had to carry him to the vet. , I had already been giving him antibiotics for the past few days, because i own and breed bulldogs for 18 years, so i thought I'd seen everything. Anyway when I got him to the vet he Immed. took him back and put in a drain and put him on more antibiotics, said drain needed to be in for 7 days, so then the discussion came up to what was the culprit, and I have been bitten by poisonous snakes and spiders in the past and know the actual bite spot will turn black a rot out, nothing no bite but the vet was also baffled, we checked his inner throat, nothing , no abcessed tooth etc.. I live in southern Mississippi and know all the critters we have and the marks they leave ,so my question is does anyone have any idea what it was that may have injected poison and not leave a bite, PS we have 7 cats and snakes have never been a problem and our litle scorpions are no more stronger than a wasp.. I have ruled all out even allergic reaction's, its been 3 weeks and hes happy and playing but still has a hard knot under his neck about the size of a 50 cent peice, venom dissolves tissue and does'nt create a solid hard mass, so if there is anyone here that may know I sure would appreciate and my vet , to if you all knew the answer...Thanks , a concerned dog lover.............
