Need advice for taking son fishing in South Florida canals?
I have a 7 year old son and live in West Palm Beach. My son went fishing with Cub Scouts and has been dying to go fishing at home. We aren't serious about fishing, and will be doing catch and release. I just want to help him with the basics. I bought my son a Zabco Spincast Fishing Combo with TacklePak from Walmart. Other than fishing as a little girl up in Pittsburgh, I have no real experience.
Here is a link to the fishing rod I purchased:

My questions are:
1. Do I need to purchase anything else?
2. What kind of bait should I use? Can I just use the spinners and grubs that came with it?
3. Anything else that I need to know?
1 AnswerFishing10 years ago37 yr. old female - needs help getting healthy?
Here's the scenario... 5'2" need to lose 100lbs.
I work 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. M-F. I go to school 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. M-Th.
I am on a very tight budget with two kids and a husband who are very picky eaters. I don't have to eat the same as them every night, but I can't eat differently every night either.
I am pretty knowledgeable about nutrition. I know what I have to do, but I have a hard time following it. Biggest problems are breakfast and late night after school - cereal (even oatmeal) leaves me hungry in an hour. I need something substantial, and quick. Breaks at school are only 10 mins long, so it's not enough to cook and eat something, and I can only take sandwiches for so long. So then I pack snacks, but I'm starving when I get home @ 10:30.
Exercise - I'm not doing any, but I am ready to start. I can't join a gym, but I have an exercise ball, Gazelle, bands and bike. Walking is OK, but hard in S FL during the summer.
THANKS TO ALL! Please be specific.
