I CAN NOT GET THIS PROBLEM!! I AM SO FRUSTRATED!!!!
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!
The teacher provides me with this example:
Then has me do this sample problem:
Please, I am not looking for solutions, just simple explanations as to how they got 0.2857 on the example because I CAN NOT FIGURE IT OUT!! NO MATTER WHAT I TRY TO DO!!
I am sorry for typing in caps but I am just so sad and so stressed out!
THEY SHOW ME A SOLUTION BUT NOT HOW TO GET IT!! THEY ONLY SAY "SUBSTITUTE."
WHAT THE HECK!? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW HOW TO DO SOMETHING WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION!?!
I seriously CAN NOT figure this out!! I am crying right now because I feel so dumb for not being able to figure out this damn problem!!
Please help! :'(

We are studying for an upcoming quiz and I would appreciate any help on these two questions!
1) One of the notes played by musical instruments has a frequency of 130.8 Hz. If an open organ pipe is to have this frequency as its fundamental, what is the length of the pipe if the speed of sound in the pipe is 350 m/s?
2) Explain, on the basis of the human retina why red, green, and blue are the primary colors of light.
Thanks so much in advanced!

1 AnswerPhysics7 years agoHelp with basic wave review?
Lucretia (a somewhat eccentric physics student) has her left ear against the concrete driveway. If someone drops a metal trash can onto the driveway about 30 m away (close enough to easily hear any sound made), will she hear one sound or two? If two, which one arrives first? Please explain your reasoning.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much! :)

1 AnswerPhysics7 years agoHelp with wave basics?
1. When a wave passes from one medium to another its speed changes. How will the frequency and wavelength in the second medium compare to their values in the first medium?
2. A radio wave from an FM station has a wavelength of 2.86 m. Where on the dial would it be (find the frequency in MHz).
This is a review for an upcoming exam, and I would appreciate any help. :)

1 AnswerEngineering7 years agoPlease help with Alg II?
Please help ! I've been stuck on these questions for over a day! I have some work to show for the first one but I'm really lost on the second one. Any help would be appreciated..
Here is my work for the first one:
y2-y1/x2-x1;
(0.125 - 512) / (5 + 7)
-511.875 / 12
-42.656 ~ -43
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - 512 = -42(x + 7)
y - 512 = -42x -294
y = -42x + 218
f(x) = -42x + 218
Is it correct?
Thanks a lot in advanced for your help!
