Can you use normal gloss paint to paint a yacht?
I know about the anti fouling paint, but I want to paint the hull above that part. The hull is fibre glass and is already painted, I just want to change the colour.
10 AnswersBoats & Boating1 decade agoAny info on a 1978 Thames Marine Invader sailing boat, I am looking at one tomorrow with a view to buy it.?
Do they handle well?
They says it is in need of a clean and some TLC but otherwise is a sound yacht.
I would like to be able to sail across to Norway from Newcastle, could this do it?
Any comments welcome
2 AnswersBoats & Boating1 decade agoMusical Keyboards?
I have a laptop with Windows XP, I would like a program that shows a keyboard like a electronic organ that I can use to make sounds or a beat that I can then record onto a CD, any suggestions?
Thanks
2 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoA question for gay males?
I have not had a gay sexual experience so I am asking this question out of curiosity. I have noticed that there is a definite physical difference to some gays appearance and even if wearing straight clothes not flamboyant camp gear, they seem to exhibit an external difference to their actual body. Does being penetrated on a regular basis trigger off a physical change to a person’s body, or is it something that is just put on?
17 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoIs it possible to increase the sound on my laptop, it is on max now but I still have trouble hearing DVDs?
My laptop is an Acer Aspire3682 and I've only had it a couple of months. I've been in sounds on the control panel and put everything up to max, but I am a bit hard of hearing and I need it louder if possible.
8 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoIs Metrosexual the way males are heading or is it just a phase?
These extracts are from Wikipedia.
Metrosexual is a word describing men who have a strong concern for their aesthetic appearance, and spend a substantial amount of time and money on their images and lifestyles.
"The typical metrosexual is a young man with money to spend, living in or within easy reach of a metropolis – because that's where all the best shops, clubs, gyms and hairdressers are. He might be officially gay, straight or bisexual, but this is utterly immaterial because he has clearly taken himself as his own love object and pleasure as his sexual preference.
For some time now the stoic, self-denying, modest straight male didn't shop enough (his role was to earn money for his wife to spend), and so he had to be replaced by a new kind of man, one less certain of his identity and much more interested in his image – that's to say, one who was much more interested in being looked at,(because that's the only way you can be certain you actually exist).
5 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoTo balance up my last poem, what do you think of - I hate men.?
I hate men,
I really, really do
I hate men
Through and through, and through
I cooked and cleaned
And keep his clothes pristine
I ensure he was well fed
And satisfied in bed
But he treated me as a slave
And insults I had to brave
My body he abused
While the neighbours he perused
I stuck up for him
When other put him down
I saw to his every whim
And apologised at every frown
My son he did scorn
When he caught him reading porn
Then I found him with our neighbours
Sharing bisexual favours
I hate men,
I really, really do
I hate men
Through and through, and through.
P.S. I don't hate anyone, though I do at times get very irritated with some people.
What I am doing is practicing my poetry writing.
8 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoCan you tell me if my poem, I hate women, has got genuine feeling?
I hate women,
I really, really do.
I hate women,
Through and through, and through.
I tried to be a good husband
I tried to be a good friend
She slept with my brother
And my best friend.
I gave her money
I gave her my time
She took my credit card
And left me without a dime.
I forgave her everything
And promised her a good time
If she would only love me
And be my valintine
Happily she agreed,
Everything was fine
Until I found her in my bed
With a son of mine
I said, why, oh why, oh why?
She laughed out loud
And with her head up proud
She said; because I’m a woman, that’s why.
I hate women,
I really, really, do.
I hate women,
Through and through, and through.
13 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoI've found a poem I wrote 10 years ago, can you comment on it please?
The Unsung Heroes of Mother Earth
Grey, red, sandy and black
Lying in a heap as though dumped from a sack
Hard, irregular and unfeeling
They lie there dormant, without apparent meaning
Each one forged from the bowels of the earth
Common, yet each one with its own particular worth
Grey, which was fashioned into axes and arrowheads
Red, mined for the ore it shed
Sandy, which was carved into blocks to make walls
Black, which was burned to give warmth within the halls
At first lifeless and inert they appear
Yet, these minerals have sustained mankind for many a year
Giving warmth, security, shelter and tools
They helped primitive man to walk tall
And turned wandering tribes into great nations
These simple stones, have been the jewels of civilisation.
19 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoSince my first poem was savaged badly, not one to give in easily, I have no choice but to written another.?
The Climax
I carefully crossed the mountain stream
Boots slipping on the moss covered rocks
One foot slipped and plunged below
Ice cold water dribbled down to my toes
Aah sh*t I cried, I had hope to keep my feet dry
Careful not to slip again
I leaped for the safety of the bank
As I stood there looking around
The snow started to fall down
Light at first but quickly it turned heavy.
I sighed and took off my pack
Nothing for it but to change my sock
And put on my waterproof smock.
Soon I was on my way
Struggling to see through the grey day
The snow lay quickly on the ground
Soon a white blanket covered the earth
My feet crunched the snow beneath my boots
As I headed up the mountain track
Pulling my pack higher up my back
I leant forward into the steep incline
Breathing became heavy the higher I climbed
Then to my relief I reached the top
Just on cue the snow stopped
All around me lay snow covered peaks
A fantastic climax of my walking week.
13 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoSitting in the security office with nothing to do, I decided to try writing a poem, what do you think?
The security officer is on 24/7
When you are a student away from home
Knowing he is there is heaven
Anytime I feel alone and far from home
I can go and talk to him from seven to seven
He helped me to use my new phone
So I could called my boyfriend Kevin
But all I got was the engaged tone
I had more luck with my sister Stephan
But all she did was moan
I tried my boyfriend again, nine, ten and eleven
I was so relieved to get through; it seems he had been trying for a loan
We talked and talked until seven
Then the other security officer Joan
Came on duty and it was no longer heaven
She complained and complained until with a groan
I left and went to bed and dreamt of home.

21 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoShould all public swimming be done in the nude to break down barriers between the genders?
Yes perverts would enjoy themselves, but they do anyway.
But don't you think the novelty would soon wear off and we could then relate to each other as people instead of as sex objects?
20 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoQ4. Is it the obsession with sex which is stopping men and women from being really equal?
In the film Starship Troopers the men and women train the same, where the same uniform, sleep in the same dormitory and shower in the same shower. Yet they still fancy each other and fall in love with members of the opposite sex. But first and foremost they are equal; their gender is a secondary thing.
Is this such a situation we should be aiming for where it is the person who comes first and foremost and their gender is recognised but not an issue?
10 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoQ3. If it is conditioning which has caused males and females to have different perspectives on life,?
then it can be reversed as it is learnt behaviour.
What can men and women do to breakdown the barrier of conditioning which is stopping up developing as a race and becoming one?
7 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoQ1. Will females ever be equal to men while they keep wanting special considerations because they are female?
This is the first in a series of questions I will be asking to see if the differences between the genders can be bridged.
This question is not for or against females or males but about genuine equality.
I know from what I have seen on Answers that sensible debate is in short supply, but I would be interested in peoples opinions.
18 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoI’ve just had a great idea, what do you think about it?
Everyone in the UK becomes a Muslim, then we can change all the Muslim laws to suit us, and if Muslims from other countries object, we can then wage holy against them!
