Hello! My name is Melissa (Missy) and I live with my wonderful family in Green Bay, WI. I am soon to be divorced mom of three. I'm relaxed yet obnoxious and level minded yet a dreamer. I guess it all depends on which mood you catch me in, comes with the whole pregnancy thing... LOL.

  • When is it right to discuss being exclusive?

I've been casually dating a guy for about a month and a half. I'm all about just kind of seeing where it goes but I'm starting to really like him and feel like maybe we should talk about what "we" are. Is it too soon for that?

By the way, we're both in our mid to late 20's so I'd prefer answers from those the same age or older.

  • How long do I wait for this guy to call me?

I went over to a friends house Friday night. There was a super hot guy there and we talked a lot but I'm not 17 and have three kids (which he is well aware of) so I wasn't going to do anything with him though he did try. So last night I received a message via facebook from him telling me that he had a good time, wanted to get to know me better, etc. After a few exchanges of messages he asked for my number. How long do I wait for him to contact me before writing him off? I would have assumed he'd for sure have called or sent a text today but he hasn't. Yes, I know it's only been one day but still. I'm a girl. Don't guys know that we're impatient?

  • What do I do for my "almost boyfriend" for valentine's day?

Do I do something if we're really not dating technically? I usually don't do valentines day and didn't even realize it was Valentines day sunday when he said he wanted to get together on sunday but then he sent me a text that threw me for a loop and I think he may be getting me something. I'm confused and really don't know what I want to do here. I don't want to not get him something and then he got me something, but I also don't want him to feel like I'm under the assumption that we're boyfriend/girlfriend... it's a fine line and I'm looking for advice lol.

  • Can guys PLEASE decode this for me cuz I'm lost!?!?

I went out on a date tonight with a guy I've been "seeing" for a few months. This was the first technical "date" but prior we've slept next to one another (nothing sexual at all) had some kind of steamy conversations, talked about the fact that we do like each other and that neither or us has any "boundaries" as far as crossing friendship lines goes. So we held hands through out the movie and in the car on the way home and before leaving after he said he was going to spend the night at my place this weekend (we live a half hour away from one another) I asked him if I could kiss him and his response was "Not today, I didn't shave" SERIOUSLY? So I told him a simple no would have worked and he was like well I added the shave part for humor. Why would a guy seemingly into you do this?

  • My sisters husband decided to tell me today that he has feelings for me and fantisizes about me... WTF?

I'm horribly disgusted by this information, but the kicker is that my kids and I are supposed to go swimming at their house tonight while my sister is at work, which was arranged by her since he is unemployed and gets "bored".

She is 6 weeks from having their first baby and I really don't have the heart to say anything to her about this. I didn't know what to say other then to try to play it off like he was joking, until he pretty much didn't get the hint that I was not too happy about what he was saying. I feel horribly uncomfortable with even being in the same room as the guy now and just do not know what to do. Any advice?

  • 38/40 weeks with extreme uterine irritability... anyone else deal with this?

I'm technically due on Oct 19th however the baby is large and according to ultrasound measurements should be measure term as of today. Last night I went into L&D for pain and they told me that basically the baby has ran out of room, that my uterus is extremely irritable and that I'm having "contractions" very close together but only lasting about 10 seconds hence the uterine irritability. I am only 1cm and thick though I've never (this is my third baby) fully dilated on my own and have always needed pitocin in the past. Does anyone have experience with something like this...? It's so painful an they just gave me Tylenol 3's and shipped me home. My regular doc is out on surgery so I have to see someone new tomorrow but I'm just frustrated, in pain, and in need of sleep but even with the pain meds I can't sleep through the pain.

  • I'm really not thrilled with my daughters school. What would you do?

My daughter started Kindergarten this year. I got an immediate bad impression about the school as a whole the night prior to school starting during a back to school event. It is considered a "Title I" school here which to my understanding means that they did not meet federal standards for x amount of years. I do believe this is because of a huge language barrier our city has been facing due to the amount of hispanics that live here. So aside from half of her classmates speaking a language other then the one she speaks (english) I find out today she's in a collabarative classroom meaning that special ed children are in with her and they are low functioning. I am not racist and am happy for my child to be with children of other races however they spend a lot of time on spanish (2 hours) per day and it just seems that the class HAS to be split into two seeing as though there is the language barrier there. Now I find out that there is a group of lower functioning (Special Ed) students as well and wonder how my child is getting a good education. The school just seems to assure me that all is well and she wont suffer yet I find that very hard to believe. She is advanced for her age and it's a concern of mine that she is getting nothing out of this year. What would you do?

  • This is just plain weird... am I crazy to think this is the onset of labor?

This is my third (and last) baby and you'd think considering my youngest is only 14 months I wouldn't be asking this but I am... I'm pretty sure unless I can get this to stop soon I am going to go in but wanted to get some opinions. On Tuesday I started to feel just plain bloated and miserable. Later I started to get really bad lower back pain and it's been difficult walking and putting weight on my right leg since. I've kind of had this nagging feeling since that maybe he's going to be even earlier then expected. He is measuring BIG though I can't see how the dates are off at all. I'm due the 19th of Oct but due to size will be scheduling the induction on the 5th for sure. Since Tuesday I've been getting an increasing feeling of pressure though I haven't noticed the baby drop. I went to lay down tonight and this is where it's all weird to me... I started to get nausea pretty bad. Then felt a contraction build and then peak. It DOES NOT feel like BH at all... after it subsided the nausea went away. Then it started to return on and off so to say for the next few minutes... then again contraction started to build, eventually peaked and this cycle has happened three times now. Twice laying once sitting. They seem to be about 15 minutes apart and I can feel that the baby is head down and almost applying pressure? Have I gone nuts? If I werent so far off from my due date I'd be gearing up for the hospital.

  • 34.5 weeks but baby is measuring 36.5 per ultrasound, I can barely walk...?

I am going to be induced on the 5th of October provided baby doesn't come before then, but these past three days I can hardly walk due to back pain and joint pain in the hip, I am hotter then Africa and nothing seems to help cool me off and I have a lot of cramping as well as pressure but the baby hasn't dropped so I know it's not labor or anything like that. Just wondering if anyone else had these symptoms or has them and what to do to try to relieve them? It's miserable!

  • When did you switch from crib to toddler bed?

I asked this question a little bit ago but people seem to just want to tell me to buy a twin bed.

I am not buying a twin bed, I am getting a toddler bed and while it may not be cost effective, it's space effective so that's what I'm doing.

I am due in 4-6 weeks (baby is measuring big by ultrasound) with another boy and I hate to buy a crib when I only really would need the two for like four months, so I wonder what age people made this switch so I can try to figure out if it would be possible to just get the toddler bed and let the baby have the crib I already have.

  • When did you switch from crib to toddler bed?

I switched my daughter at about 21 months but I'm not sure this would work with my son.... What age did you switch your child at?

  • Should I wake my 14 month old up to give him medicine for his fever?

He had a fever of 101.3 after medicine this evening (6pm) but seemed fine about 7pm with the fever "gone" though I'm sure it was just the medicine working then. I just checked on him for the second time and he's a little sweaty and thanks to the ear thermometers I check him and he was at 99.8. I figured I'd just let him continue to sleep and check him in a few hours again to see if it's any worse but of course am now questioning myself as to if I should have waken him up to give him some more medicine as he's sweaty and hot. Opinions?

  • Would you take a 5 year old to a midnight premier of a movie they really like?

Just curious as to what other parents opinions are on this. My daughter really likes Twilight, thanks to my sister, and Auntie asked her if she wanted to go to the midnight premier. I personally thought I'd just take her the next day. What do you all think?

  • Any advice on supporting a five year old through divorce?

I just kicked my husband out and will be filing for divorce. I'm having a hard enough time keeping myself together right now but I'm doing it for our five year old daughter. She however is mad at me because I kicked daddy out and is crying. I'm at a loss as to how to help her and it's only making it worse on me. I can handle me, and I can handle this extra of her being heart broken, but I feel like I should somehow be able to say something to help her.

I don't need anyones crap about making my marriage work because trust me when I say I wish that were possible, but it's not and I've tried and tried and tried... but marriages don't work when only one person is trying... so please save your crap for someone who doesn't have a logical reason for it.

  • How do I just walk away?

I started dating my now husband seven years ago. We got married about two and a half years ago. We have a five year old daughter, a 14 month old son, and another baby due in about a month. He's always had issues from time to time with just basically not stepping up to the plate but lately it's been pretty rough. I am no longer working, though I was the only one working for almost two years now. We are still financially fine as I collect severance and unemployment and will be fine for quite some time (at least the next year). Since I've been home all day with him and the kids he seems to never want to do anything but sit on the computer, I can't get him to help with the kids and co-parent with me, he barely helps with the house, goes out about three four times per week, sleeps till eleven in the morning. I mean it's like he doesn't realize he's married and has two almost three kids. These are just some of the issues I've been having with him. I don't trust him because he seems secretive these days and I just feel like if I were smart I'd walk away. I've tried to talk to him about how much is on my shoulders and just tell him how I feel and it's in one ear out another... advice?

  • Considering getting my tubes tied but worried about weight...?

I am due in October with my third and last baby. My husband has already had a vasectomy however we know that those aren't even fool proof and well I just figured to be ultra safe I would consider getting my tubes tied as well. I know this sounds really superficial but I've heard that loosing weight after getting your tubes tied is hard. I feel horrible not wanting to do this only because I don't want to worry about weight but in reality we'd all love to be a size four so I guess at least I admit it... anyone have their tubes tied? Any advice on this?

  • Suddenly measuring a month ahead... anyone have this at 29 weeks?

This is my third and last baby and I'm due October 19th, when I went to see the doctor Monday at 29 weeks I was measuring 33 weeks. My doctor said that if I'm still measuring this far ahead in two weeks I'll have to get an ultrasound and see where the baby is at and go from there... I was so shocked by this as he's (the baby) measured to the day with the two ultrasounds I've had that I didn't even ask what this could mean... anyone go through this or know someone who has? What could this mean, if anything, other then a big baby, and how did it turn out? Were you induced early or did the baby get back on track? Any insight would be great!

  • How would one address a judge in a letter for a character statement?

I am writting a letter of character for someone I know and am unsure as to how best to address the judge.

Would it be best to write Dear Judge, or Dear Sir or Madam? Any other opinions?

  • What can I do to get it through his head?

My husband has been a chore and a half lately. He joined a band and seems to have a hard time balancing the married with kids life while hanging out with single guy friends. They're all great guys and are very nice and respectful, however they're not great guys for a married man... I'm totally frustrated with my husbands sudden need to be childish... We have an almost 5 year old daughter, a 1 year old son and another baby due in October. I don't "mind" doing it alone other then the fact that I'm not and shouldn't have to. He enrolled in college and I told him to focus on school and the kids and not work, so I support us... He's off now for summer and not only did he barely get through the last month of classes from being irresponsible, but he sleeps till noon, goes to his "band practice" most nights all too late for a man that needs to wake up early with his kids in the morning, and a pile of absolutly stupid things (such as him dropping his cell phone in the toilet and ruining it while out drinking) continues to build and I'm at a breaking point... what can I do to get the idiot to realize what he will loose if he doesn't get it back together quick!?!

  • Advice on how you would handle this? I think he's lying but obviously can't prove it.?

My husband went out of town to a benefit for his cousin and took MY car as it's a PT Cruiser and has a bit more space for his friends he decided to tow along. I wasn't all that thrilled about him taking my car to begin with but I'm a pick your battles wife so just shrugged and said whatever. I asked him to be back sooner then later the next day as we have an almost five year old, a one year old, another on the way and there really was no reason for him to be gone all the next day. Anyways, He didn't get home until 10pm, which already had me upset considering he didn't even bother to call to let me know what was up... Well he walks in and says he needs to talk and that I'll be upset. I get told my car suffered damage... The story is that while he was swimming in a heavily populated area, the damage occured. The back window is smashed completely yet the glass is in place with the exception of one hole since it is tinted. The hole is not very big persay... The little window of the back seat was hit by what appears to be a crow bar three times, and the front windshield was hit in one place, again looking like by a crow bar.. There are also two spots on the body in which it's scratched/dented and does not look like rock damage to me. So this morning he realized I'm not buying it and stated that he found a rock in the passengers side front seat. I just don't buy this and can't decide if I'm being unreasonable or if it seems this far fetched to others.

I also asked (naturally) about the police report and was told that he didn't file one because it was getting so late...
