  • Is it a bad idea to drop off a resume in person?

So I have about 5 years of retail experience and I m looking to go into luxury sales. However a lot these designer/luxury brands don t really have a way to apply online. Most won t even state whether or not they have any openings and if they do have a career page it s only for store overseas, some brands won t even let you do a search in the US at all. So with this I ve been considering personally taking my resume in a dropping it off but I ve heard that that isn t a good idea. Has anyone had any experience on this and could share some advice? It s be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • What's the appropriate job title of a "vendor"?

I don't mean an actually vendor, so (obviously) I'll explain. I use to work at a large department store, and every week or so we would get these people that would come in for a particular brand. They would sometime give seminars for incoming products, merchandised for that particular brand, keep up-to-date with how well (or how not so well) a product was selling (or whenever it was slow...do nothing at all) and I know they would go from one store to another that carried that brand they were representing.

They call themselves vendors, however I don't think that's the actual job title since I'm having a REALLY hard time finding "vendor" with that job description. So I was wondering if A) if anyone knows what I'm talking about and B) what the actual name for that particular job is (if there is one)

    That was really long...sorry

  • How to put music videos on Instagram?

So I've seen a lot of people who've put up music videos on Instagram and I was wondering what app can you use to do that. I've tried googling it myself but I've only seen how to put music on your pictures but not an actual music video. Also I apologize if this is in the wrong category, this one just felt the most fitting...

    Thanks

  • Job won't send me my final paycheck?

So I quit my job sometime earlier this month, and while I relieved my final paycheck for the week I worked, I have yet to receive my commission check that I was expecting from the month of September. While, my job said that they had sent me my check it has been close to three weeks and at this point I'm becoming frustrated and ready to to take it to the next level, if possible. Unfortunately I've never been a situation like this before and have no idea what to do. Advice please?

  • What happends if you don't agree to your Miranda rights?

I know it's a random question, but I was watching Dexter a few weeks ago and on the show a guy was read his rights but did agree to understanding what was said to him and was let out. So I was wondering how accurate is that, if a person doesn't agree to his/her Miranda rights is that person free to walk?

  • How can I get my Ipod back?

About two weeks ago I got into a fight with my brother, we were fighting in the car and when I left I left my ipod behind. It's been missing ever since. My whole family knows my brother likes to steal (especially from family), and he's already admitted to me and my grandmother that he has it, yet he refuses to give it back. And getting the authorities involved feels pretty extreme, but I want my stuff back, so is there anyway I can force him to give my Ipod back?

PS...I'm not really sure if Law & Ethics is the right category but it seems close enough.

  • If you get fired, do you still get a W2?

I use to work at a retail store and was fired by in July. I've gotten a new job since then but I was wondering if I still get a W2 from my last job even though I was terminated.

  • He said he just wants some space? (warning: long story)?

I've been with my boyfriend for almost a year and we have a long distance relationship, all last week I hadn't heard from him, if I called he wouldn't answer, nor would he call me back or respond to my text messages. So I finally confronted him about it and he got really defensive telling me about how busy he's been trying to launch his own business by himself, working on his bachelors, paying his bills and helping his mother with her finances (which I actually knew nothing about) and how I wasn't being supportive, and when I tried to explain to him that I understood he was busy and that I've just been feeling neglected he didn't respond and I didn't hear back from him. A few days later I was just completely beside myself, the day after our last conversation a friend of mine had passed away, when I texted my boyfriend about it, he never responded and days after that I still hadn't heard from him. My friend (who was staying with me for that week), ended up calling him and leaving him a message because I was crying so much. Five minutes later he texted me saying (verbatim): I'm really busy at the moment, and to be honest I still don't feel like talking. I just need some space"

So I'm not sure exactly what I'm suppose to do, I don't feel like I've done anything wrong. And it's not like I can talk to him since he's not talking to me so what should I do? And how long till he'll be ready to talk again?

  • Not looking forward to my birthday?

So my birthday is in two weeks and I'm not looking forward to it at all, I'm actually freaking out about it. And I've heard of people getting depressed over their 30th or 40th birthday, but I'm only turning 20. I can't even legally drink yet I feel like an old hag knocking on deaths door! I also remember feeling like this the days prior to my 18th birthday as well so I was wondering why am I feeling like this and if this kind of thing is normal (for people my age)

  • How can I convince my boyfriend to be okay with me cutting my hair?

When we first met my hair was already short. I was transitioning into short hair so I got a bob cut before going ahead with the big chop. But when we started dating he saw pictures of me with my long hair (I had actually just cut it a month prior) and he was commenting on how much he liked my hair long and asked if I could make it longer. So I got extensions for him. But now I really want to cut my hair again but he's totally against it. Though I would like to make my boyfriend happy, at the same time I want my hair short. So is there anyway I could convince him to be okay with this?
