Can I press charges against my place of employment?
I was at work and a mother ordered an alcoholic drink and I carded her. I bring the drink to the table and I notice the daughter (who was clearly underage) was drinking the drink and it was on HER side of the table. To make a long story short, I carded her, her Identification said 1992, I take the drink the girl slaps me in the face (and her nail poked me in my eye). I never got a chance to hit her back b/c everyone pulled me back and out of the door. Management never called the police, got the girls information to see who she was because she hurt me while I was on the job, nor did they ask me was I okay. All they did was ask me if I pushed her back. I would like to press charges against them b/c I don't feel safe nor do I feel protected as an employee. It is their job to protect me while I am at work, due to the fact that I can't protect myself. Should I have hit her back, I would have been fired. What do you all think? I've called a few lawyers and they are saying that they can't help me.
